I seem to be the only dissenting voice here, but disent I must!
What worked really well was the standard of the service which was faultless. The atmosphere was pretty good although our tables were quite close together (we were in the front) so I wouldn't particularly recommend it for an intimate occassion.
What didn't work so well was the part I expected to be brilliant - the food. Of course it was significantly better than your average restaurant, but at nearly £300 for the two of us (including £90 for wine), it should be. We agreed that our starters were excellent, our main course was pretty good, and our desserts were disappointing. Frankly, there is no excuse for a dessert at £12.50 to be any less than impressive. The biggest disappointment for me was what I consider to be a lack of balance in the dishes - for example, why coat scallops in a really strongly flavoured herb crust?
So, for me, ignoring the price, overall quite good. Factoring in the price, not nearly good enough. And not nearly as good as John Burton Race, MPW et al.

Another couple picked this place to go with me and my wife as a leaving dinner for them. It has a long history of pleasing guests, wins awards, and has been recommended by friends.
The place feels very classy inside, without being stuffy or too flash. The only fault with the service is that some of my table couldn't understand those with French accents. Amusé buche were delightful (as was the Champagne my wife had as aperitif). Starters were more discreet than the menu made them sound, but that's a good thing. The trotters were nothing like I thought they'd be. The star of that course was probably the tuna my wife had. The mains were a tad on the small side, which is just fine for me, but some people should be aware. Everything cooked perfectly, from the chicken to the john dory. We had two desserts, the best of which was probably the bitter chocolate tart.
Two things deserve special mention in my book. First, I noticed that everyone in the restaurant was there for the food. You can usually tell the people who are in a place to be seen or just to say they've been, and I didn't see any there on a Saturday night. One of the benefits of going to a fine dining restaurant that's "missing" it's 3rd michelin star. We even got chatting to the table next to us about their puddings (both tables had a fair bit to drink by then). Second, if you choose one extra to go with the two courses, make it the cheese and wine. It's £24 for three wedges of cheese, some crackers, and three small servings of wine, one to compliment each cheese. An old, classic pairing, and executed with stunning effect. Worth every penny, if you are at all interested in how wine can compliment food.
French food. Done right. Not sure my pocketbook can afford to go back anytime soon, but it's a night we'll all remember.

I recently went to Pied a Terre for dinner with my husband. Enjoyed dinner here on 21st May. Both food was good but i would not say outstanding (Petrus i felt is a better 2 star Michelin for both food and atmosphere where tables are much more intimate.)
Service was excellent, knowledgeable and unobtrusive.

I've visited Pied a Terre on a number of occasions now with my girlfriend and feel compelled to write this review to highlight further the outstanding nature of this restaurant.
We last visited on Friday night, choosing quail and langoustine respectively, followed by kid and venison. Whilst all dishes were superb, the kid was truly wonderful (and a first for me), presented as a number of different cuts, bringing out the concentrated lamby taste. Service, as always, was unobstrusive and efficient.
As you might expect, the wine list is expensive if you are focus on the bordeaux region. However, better value can be had from other European and New World regions. The sommelier is helpful and knowledgeable when navigating the extensive list.
Overall, the best and most consistent fine dining experience I've had in London. From start to finish we have always been presented with exceptional food that combines first class ingredients and cooking without resorting to form (or a combination of riotous flavours) over substance. It is expensive but if you are devoted to food then this is a must.

This really is a fantastic restaurant. The food is always delicious and the service friendly and slick. Never eaten a meal that was anything less than excellent. Recently, scallops and langoustines, foie gras and tongue terrine to start were delicious. And madelaines and chocolates with coffee were a nice touch. Great cheese trolley too. Just can't fault this place.

This restuarant had excellent service, food and atmosphere. We managed to secure a private room where the service was faultless. The food was of a standard that was on par with the best from New York, Sydney and Hong Kong. It was expensive however with the combination of food, service and atmosphere it was worth it.

Enjoyed dinner here on 13th Jan. Both food and atmosphere were of the highest quality.
The Roasted Foie Gras was beautifully presented and suitably sumptuous whilst my partner's starter of Scallops and Langoustines was full of subtle flavours.
Poached Monkfish was cooked to perfection and the Mushroom Duxelle complemented well. My partner enjoyed her Venison although it was a little rich for my taste (personal preference).
The Cheese Board was eclectic and well thought out. Being able to choose from over ten cheeses and not being limited to three choices was a nice touch.
Service was excellent, knowledgeable and unobtrusive.
Highly recommended.
