Pied a Terre

I've visited Pied a Terre on a number of occasions now with my girlfriend and feel compelled to write this review to highlight further the outstanding nature of this restaurant.
We last visited on Friday night, choosing quail and langoustine respectively, followed by kid and venison. Whilst all dishes were superb, the kid was truly wonderful (and a first for me), presented as a number of different cuts, bringing out the concentrated lamby taste. Service, as always, was unobstrusive and efficient.
As you might expect, the wine list is expensive if you are focus on the bordeaux region. However, better value can be had from other European and New World regions. The sommelier is helpful and knowledgeable when navigating the extensive list.
Overall, the best and most consistent fine dining experience I've had in London. From start to finish we have always been presented with exceptional food that combines first class ingredients and cooking without resorting to form (or a combination of riotous flavours) over substance. It is expensive but if you are devoted to food then this is a must.

This really is a fantastic restaurant. The food is always delicious and the service friendly and slick. Never eaten a meal that was anything less than excellent. Recently, scallops and langoustines, foie gras and tongue terrine to start were delicious. And madelaines and chocolates with coffee were a nice touch. Great cheese trolley too. Just can't fault this place.

This restuarant had excellent service, food and atmosphere. We managed to secure a private room where the service was faultless. The food was of a standard that was on par with the best from New York, Sydney and Hong Kong. It was expensive however with the combination of food, service and atmosphere it was worth it.

Enjoyed dinner here on 13th Jan. Both food and atmosphere were of the highest quality.
The Roasted Foie Gras was beautifully presented and suitably sumptuous whilst my partner's starter of Scallops and Langoustines was full of subtle flavours.
Poached Monkfish was cooked to perfection and the Mushroom Duxelle complemented well. My partner enjoyed her Venison although it was a little rich for my taste (personal preference).
The Cheese Board was eclectic and well thought out. Being able to choose from over ten cheeses and not being limited to three choices was a nice touch.
Service was excellent, knowledgeable and unobtrusive.
Highly recommended.

Incredible food. Immaculately presented and imaginative, well thought out dishes. Charming staff and a beautiful environment made for an excellent evening.
Not cheap, but a definite "must-go" for those special occasions.
I would be a fool not to go again!

Fabulous food, a very exclusive feel to the restaurant and the set lunch must be the best value in London! Plus you don't need to book several weeks in advance. A real gem.

Went there a couple of weeks ago for a lunch for the first time since it had re-opened and wasn't a thrilled as I had been on previous visits ,the food was still fabulous but service left a bit to be desired for once.Tha man on the next table was sat alone and looked like he had been stood up however a mobile phone call to his lunch partner found that she had been sitting at the front of the restaurant for 20 mins while he had been ushered into the room at the back.We too encountered problems over our desserts,I went off the set menu whilst my colleague stuck to it,sadly we were both brought the same dessert heavy discussions ensued and despite putting my case forward in French to the waiters was left feeling like it was my fault, both desserts were removed and no apology offered- when they finally arrived after a 20 min wait they were both great but the damage was done by then - even places this good have their off days.
