Montpeliano

My wife and I had only a few days to spend in London, and we were looking for a special place to enjoy a meal our last night, July 19th, something that would sum up the experiences we had enjoyed over the week. We literally stumbled upon Montpeliano and could not have been more pleasantly surprised by the ambience, the food, and the exquisite service. We had gone out looking for casual fun and weren't really dressed for such a nice place, but we were assured that we were dressed perfectly for their restaurant.

Our waiter was friendly and quick with the service. One of the three maitre di's---this one was named Pino---who was seemingly everywhere took time to assist us and to chat with us like old friends. We had a wonderful meal and a wonderful evening and left London early the next morning with a great feeling of satisfaction.

Top Italian in London. Amazing food, great ambience.

Its like you are in Italy and ofcourse super friendly staff.

I took my friends to my favourite restaurant in London. They enjoyed every minute. The food was superb and the Staff ever friendly. A great night out and we all cant wait to return.

Went here for My Mums 60th Birthday Bash as we have always liked eating here over the years. There were 19 of us in total and we were given a nice big long oval table. Despite our numbers the staff excelled themselves, and the service was fantastic. The food was wonderful, i have eaten in several of the top London Restaurants and this in in my top 3. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this Place to anyone for the complete package. We had a fantastic 4 course meal and with a big party and no 2 ordering the same thing it all worked out better than we had expected.

We had dinner here last Saturday night on the £25 special offer. It was fantastic..great food and attentive service. My husband's parma ham starter was a very generous portion and our main courses, the tuna and the risotto were also large and delicious. I had Italian ice cream as a sweet...again, more than I could eat, and we finished with coffee which came with chocolates and biscuits...all included in the price! An amazing deal, but we both agreed we would come here even after it's over. Also would be a good place to hold a business do.

I went to Montpeliano for a dinner with my date. The food was excellent and the service impeccable. The staff was so friendly, we were even offered complimentary chocolates after the meal.

My girlfriend and I had dinner here on her birthday a couple of weeks ago. Her fond memories of a previous visit, along with the splendid reviews on this site, meant we went with very high expectations indeed. Montpeliano fulfilled them all.

The service was impeccable and attentive, and delivered with a professional intimation of familiarity that made me feel more like a regular in an Italian family restaurant than a first-time visitor to an expensive London eatery.

We both had a delicious lobster soup starter, followed by a simply fantastic Fillet Rossini, cooked to perfection from top quality meat that melted on the tongue - one of the best steaks I have ever had. The Tiramisu I had for dessert was, likewise, superb.

The £140 bill bought us a starter and main course each, plus a shared dessert and coffee; a glass each of Italian bubbly whilst perusing the menu; still water; and a very nice bottle of Sicilian red at around £26. As a pleasant surprise, when the bill came, we were told the generous pourings of grappa and limoncello were on the house.

Whilst it was on the expensive side, the quality was absolutely top-notch. And, for such a memorable evening, definitely worth it.

montpeliano is simply an amazing restaurant i would have to say that it is the best italian restaurant in london. a guy called olly who posted a comment earlier is simply daft he obviously doesnt understand anything about restaurants. I went there yesterday and the food was amazing and the service was superb and it has one of the best atmospheres in london and the value for money is just simply too good! i go there reguarly and will keep on going! ive been going there recently and the waiters are so friendly. I knopw the owner really well (antonio) and he a marvouls guy he makes the meals at montpeliano so worth while!

I can't understand why this restaurant ever gets a bad review. My family and I have been coming for 20+ years and it's always been nothing short of a great experience.

I’d rate the food as the best (Italian) in London – there are plenty of vegetarian options and they are always happy to make you something on the menu. They even made creamy, fig pasta at the request of my sister last Saturday (9th December) with no fuss, albeit with a lot of laughs with us about it. And for me they did something they’ve taken off their menu – again it wasn’t a problem for them.

It is particularly special at Christmas as they have the fir and fairy lights on the ceiling at the front – which is where I’d recommend sitting.
