I had a lunch with workmates here. It was Friday and not too busy which was suprising.
It was quite expensive however very good food and wine, so it's the type of lunch I won't be doing too often but will thoroughly enjoy when I do. Service was fine; the waitress was knowledgable and efficient.

Had a lovely team lunch there yesterday which was then totally ruined by the attitude and manner of the manager, which can best be described as disgraceful. Sheep being herded to slaughter get treated better. A manager demanding customers to stand in one spot and skull their full glasses of wine in 5 minutes is blatantly rude, not to mention irresponsible. There are much nicer restaurants in the city for you to spend your money at!

Contrary to most of the reviews on here, I actually had a very pleasent meal, good wine and excellent service. Sure its pricey and yes the decor is a little garish, but thats part of the charm.
If you want cheap and quick go next door to KFC, if you want good steak and a good atmosphere you could do a lot worse than go here.
Although - having said all of that, I still prefer the Gaucho over the road for the food.

Im afraid to say this was an expensive and not very good meal.
Food was okay but prices are high (£25 plus for a steak) and the service was terrible. We had to carry our own wine including glasses and ice bucket downstairs when we wanted to go to our table. The manager spent the night sitting at a table talking and didn't seemed concerened anything.
To top it of i have never seen a wine list that states the wine must be paid for even if it corked or out of condition. Wines on the list were also not cheap, Craggy range sauvignon blanc for £35 is lot more than other city places.
Decor also looks tired.

An incredibly outdated place - garish tartan colour scheme throughout, a cloakroom attendant dressed like something from 'Are You Being Served?', and a distinctly brusque, old-fashioned attitude to service, which harks back to the days when patrons were treated more as an annoyance than as guests.
Anyway, some people like the old-school vibe, especially in these parts, where you still find the odd ruddy-faced City gent happily ensconced underground in a dimly lit corner with his scotch.
The food, however, is radically overpriced (£28.50 for a steak served with sauted potatoes - not really chunky chips, to be honest - plus a grilled tomato!) and scarcely lives up to the prices. I had the meat of the day for a more reasonable £14 - two wild boar sausages with spinach (a tiny table spoon of the stuff) and garlic mash (very buttery). If the prices were more of this level, I might like the place more. As it is, I feel it manages to get away with these prices only based on a certain type of clientele which, I imagine, will continue to wither away. Won't be returning, there are better places in the City for lunch - eg 1 Lombard.
