your comments review this restaurant and win a bottle of champagne

Went there for S.Valentine's day , booked a table slightly late! When we arrived we recieved a warm welcome by the waiting staff! After taken care of our coats and flowers, they liaded us up stairs where we found a nice tiny corner table ready for making ourselves confortable. The dining room was fairly booked and pretty cosy.

We had a five courses dinner prefixed at £75 each which was overall a good bargain. Appetizer of three mouthfuls was very pleasant, fresh oysters included! We could by the way choose partially our courses which was a nice touch from the chef, he made it easier for my loved guest. We have been asked for some drinks timely by the attentive staff. We ordered a bottle of champagne for our meal which was presented and served properly by the sommelier who attempted for some overstretched suggestion. Head waitress came twice to check if we're ready to order, I would say too fast for a such "lovebird" evening. Shame for our two fresh champagne glasses just put down on the table waiting for a following chilled bottle of champ already delivered kept in the ice baket, taken away wrongly by the waiter who wanted evidently to do overly. Unnecessary rushy service in the end, even though a unexpected table of two came up around 10.45 pm. We ended this evening with a great food aftertaste and a superb fresh rose gift from the house! Overall the snatchy service has to be improved as well as their playful behaviour which doesn't match that framework. Pricy with a spinkle of class! R. Corrigan fully deserved his "Well KnowN" cusine-mastership! Recommended !

I can't understand how some one can say that the food at Lindsay House taste like Burger King??? Last Friday (26 Jan) my partner and I went along to Lindsay House for the first time to celebrate his 50th. From the food, to the faultless service, the wine and even the home made bread, everything was just simply amazing.

My god an absolute disaster, my best friend and I went for a treat. Frankly we could't find a single dish we liked the sound of, the waiter smelt of damp clothes and so did the pokey room. We ordered wine and basically left the main course. Dessert we didnt bother with, frankly could't wait to get out, it was dingy, smelly and the food was no better than burger king. A complete waste of money. Where it gets its name as a classy restaurant is beyond me.

all excited to eat at this famous and charismatic chef's restaurant. It was a disappointment thorughouth the dinner.

Food first: chose the tasting menu as these supposedly highlight the culinary vision, techniques and skills of the kitchen. Out of seven dishes none passed the most essential test, that sense of disappointment that unfortunately you are eating the last mouthful of the dish.

Did not care that I finished and were eager to move on to the following dish only to be further disappointed.

risotto was undercooked (happens too often). The fish was passable. the pheasent was very good, juicy, gamey but you can nothing that a good tuscan trattoria in siena cannot prepare. The rest...i forgotten.

another fundamental mistake is that they dished froi grois twice. the amuse bouche and the starter. even the french waited admited belatedly that it was too much.

service, well i had better at girafee restaurants! slow, slow, yes courteous, but slow. they needed prompting for the aperetif.

after spending more than 100 pounds per person you should feel contented, fulifilled and wallowing in how good life is..

not with this place.

Booked a private room at Lindsay House, despite not having been there, and despite some mixed reviews. Anyway, we had a good meal, but the portions were ever so minute. Despite eating all the bread and asking for extra mash, we all left needing to find the nearest place to scarf down a cheeseburger.

The other major major comment is that our private room, the Chef's Table, supposedly for 8, was absolutely too tight with 6 of us, and with the waiters only able to get to half the table from the opposite side, it felt like they were crossing us non stop, a fact made worse by the noisy floorboards which made their presence even more intrusive.

Added to that it was expensive; despite being on corporate Amex, I felt we would have done much better with a bit more seating space and a bit more food elsewhere.

Have had mixed experiences of this restaurant. My husband & I went for lunch on my birthday and the food was incredible - I must have raved about it to at least 10 friends- even the salad leaves tasted heavenly!! The dessert was the best apple pie I have ever tasted - even the sight of this big 14" pie with a equally generous depth was really quite a piece of art in itself! Loved the experience so went back for dinner a couple of months later...this was such an anti climax. It seems that the dinner menu was just so pretentious and very self indulgent on behalf of the chef ; both my husband & I did not like any of the mains on offer; rabbit, pigeon, pork belly - definately a very required taste. Whilst we were seeking out gastronomic delights of a michelin standard surely at least one dish can be beef, lamb, chicken or fish?. When my husband enquired if he could have something from the pre theatre menu the maitre' d returned saying that would not be possible.....so my advice is outstanding for lunch, distinctly average for dinner.

Oh heaven! Probably the best meal I've ever eaten - yes, it was that good. We had the pre-theatre menu so didn't really push the boat out but the 3 courses we ordered magically turned into 5 with the surprise appetizer (rabbit consomme and foie gras in poppy snaps - delicious) and at the end a selection of sweet tidbits. The service was attentive without being fawning. We will be going back - next time for the whole kit and caboodle!

good produce very well cooked, served with care, and attention to detail.

My wife and I ate our anniversary meal here ad Im glad we did. I was supprised to read the other reviews as this surely was not the same place we went to. the combinations of textures and favours were spot on, it is so refreshing to see food that is reliant upon the flavour and apperance of its product , and not over complecated by other flavours and garnisnes.

The waiting staff were also working at this level, providing us with service one expects at such places. Always there to help, but also un-obtrusive, they all knew it was our wedding anniversary and when appropriate each member of the team on our floor congratulated us which was a very nice touch.

We too have eaten at Mr Ramsey's estableshments and without question enjoyed the whole experience, but we came here with no expectations as they are very different places, cooking different food with different styles. Would we eat here again? Of course, in a heart beat

What a charming restaurant. Expensive, but worth every penny.

I took my fiance for dinner last week and we were looked after wonderfully from start to finish. The beautiful opulent Georgian townhouse creates a dining experience unique in London. Beware of lots of stairs though!

The food more two Michelin star, than one, the service professional, but very friendly. The maitre'd Dawid made us feel we owned the place. The winelist is terrific fun, once you get the hang of it, as it's very unusually layed out. Nevermind. The extremely charming and witty English sommelier Ed, patiently talked us through his list and the wine he selected for our meal was a perfect match.

It's the little touches that make the place. We were so full after our meal, that we were somewhat disappointed to be presented with some beautiful petit fours that we simply had no room for. Recognising our distress, our charming young French waitress found us a specially-designed box to take them away with us.

A class act. We will be back!

I can't really understant the bad reviews of this place. My partner took me here for a birthday treat and the food was fabulous, innovative and the service excellent. We sat next to a couple who were being very unpleasant to the staff for no good reason and it may be that people like that may make the staff a little jaded. I think if you are polite to them they'll be nice back! All in all a memorable experience.
