An elegant setting and attentive waiters made for a beautiful evening. Basket of potatoes with streetfood as a starter was fantastic, the vegetarian main spicy and really interesting. My partner had duck as a main and was she was very pleased with it being perfectly cooked. Bottle of house white wine was as expensive as the cheapest bottles on the extensive list so to pick one yourself would probably make sense. Desert was fantastic, espresso too hot. Including 12.5% service charge and tips we spend £91.00 and I feel it was thoroughly worth it.

Pretty much what you'd expect from a posh Indian restaurant in Chelsea - westernised dishes, small portions and outrageous prices. Having said that, the food was delicious and all the ingredients were fresh and cooked perfectly. It was an interesting experience and somewhere to go for a special occasion since the restaurant itself is lovely and has a good wine list. We had some 'fusion' type dishes like the curried lamb shank and mash, as well as a more traditional tasting methi chicken. All in all I'd say it was interesting and it was really popular with the locals, but I don't know if I'd go back. If you want a romantic evening in an elegant setting then this is the place, but if you want an authentic curry and not break the bank I'd go somewhere in Southall.

We went to Chutney Mary for the first time on saturday night for my partners birthday. The restaurant is set in a lovely part of chelsea and has very romantic and relaxing atmosphere. The food was very nice and fresh, although a overpriced for the amount that you got. The menu was a little disapointing to, however we did have a really nice time, just dont expect a great deal for your money and dont expect an Indian as you probably currently know it!

What a disappointment. The food we had was excellent (most of us ate the degustation menu) but our friend with a nut allergy had virtually no choice available to him and the kitchen were apparently unwilling or unable to make him up something specially. Such a cowardly lack of flexibility does nothing for a restaurant's reputation and none of us will be eating here again.

My wife and I dined at Chutney Mary on Saturday evening and were disappointed in the quality of the food. It was rather bland and most of the dishes were tepid. Strange when their sister restaurants - Veeraswamy and Amaya - do so much better. There was also very little atmosphere. Why on earth don't they have some background music? The one saving grace was the friendly service, but overall this was very poor value. We would not eat here again.

I hosted private party of 20 on 14th Oct. The management were keen to assist in any way and paid particular attention to a vegetarian guest and a gluten-free guest, both of whom had special menu's prepared. The room was beautifully set up and the evening was superb - the two staff members were discreet and yet present when required, drinks always refilled and food was hot, supremely tasty and served in good time. 20 out of 20 guests present will go again......Thank you Chutney Mary!

I'm an Indian fan and I thought this was the best Indian Restaurant I've ever been in. I had Veeraswamy as my favourite until recently. Not much between them but I was blown away by the experience, takes the prize by a nose. You have to try this place if you like Indian food.

I have been to Chutney Mary's a couple of times and it has always been a success. Last night's visit took the shine off that record a little bit, although I still thought it was very good.
Delicious, albeit increasingly pricey, food, including goan chicken curry and a very tastey side dish of okra and water chesnuts. The service was a little slow and not particularly authentic, the manager being Indian but most of the waiting staff were Eastern European and seemed to know very little about what was being served. That was a shame.
We did not sit in the conservatory area and I thought that the experience was lacking as a result. I would recommend trying to get a table in that area.

How disappointed was I after hearing so much about Chutney Mary's.
It was soo dark you could not read the menu. The choice was poor, the portions small and they all seemed to taste the same.
We felt as though we had been ripped off, Id never recommend it.
