Four of us had dinner on 1st June. Fantastic decor, good service, bland food in small portions and very expensive - not good value for money overall.

Service was ok, food was not what I would have expected for the prices they charge - average at best. They really didn't need the euro-pop music in the background either. And I know this has been said before, but HOW MUCH for the water?!?

A couple of weeks ago I ate at La Porte des Indes with a small group of friends. From the very beginning of the evening to when we left the service was truly shocking. We waited ages for our drinks and had to keep asking for them. The food also took a very long time to arrive, by which time most of us had lost our appetites. Yes it is a wonderful atmoshere but the food was only nice and not exceptional and for £50 per head it should be. I will definitely not be going back.

This has been one of my worst dining experiences ever. No. This has been my worst dining experience ever.

Food: I've had better (for less than half the price). This was definitely not above average. I was not impressed.

Atmosphere: I wished i was at any calm, quiet place, like Waterloo Station on a friday afternoon.

Service: Never before a waiter has torn a water bottle out of my hands while i am refilling my glass. This was not service, this was war.

Value: This is ridiculous. Even for London.

Never again.

Went there last night with my partner. Fantastic! Really great food, fantastic attentive service and a great atmosphere (even on a Wednesday night). Was pricey but then it was a bit special!

£40 a head for a curry? Well, living in North Yorkshire my impression 'a priori' would have been that these are silly London prices. However, having been escorted through the slightly elegant but uninspiring entrance to a world of oriental exuberance, and having been taken to a table by a floodlit pond under a glass dome... Incidentally, I am told that the impressively large floral arrangements are flown from Holland and changed every week. The food was certainly above average. The assortments we tried as main course covered a wide range of flavours, delicately spiced, without overburning our papillae but, at the same time, meeting the demands of those who attend Indian restaurants for the daring side of it. The service was helpful, although I do not like being dictated how fast I should drink my £6 bottle of beer. Overall an enjoyable expensive experience, which I will repeat sometime.

Disabled access is via emergency exit. Don't drink too much or expect to use the facilities, which are down multiple flights of stairs.

If you have an aversion to garlic, then this restaurant is not for you. The only option is a freshly made mediocre chicken curry.

My overall perception is the food, while varied and interesting, was only slightly above average and others in the group commented that it was not up to Marks and Spencer quality.

Lack of consideration for disability is unexpected and very disappointing. Would definitely **NOT** visit again.

From outside, it doesn't look very appealing but the inside is fantastic! It looks like you are in a plantation in India. The food was really tasty. It might be a bit expensive but it's well worth it for a good meal!
