Lovely restaurant, very good food and a nice quiet location. Perfect for a romantic dinner a deux.

I went to the Bistro. It is a hidden pearl. The interior design was lovely as was the food. The Service was excellent.

This used to be one of my favourite restaurants in London, but judging by my last visit the service and the food has taken a fairly drastic turn for the worst. Cold main courses and having to ask for the bill three times being good examples.
It may have something to do with the fact that they have expanded the restaurant part of the establishment and are over-stretched (both in the kitchen and on the restaurant floor) as a result. The location is as good as ever, though that is not enough to defend the high prices.

This place has totally gone downhill. The setting is as lovely as ever but, on my visit last night, I found the food really awful. The terrine starter was bland and served with old and limp lettuce. The main course (risotto) was tasteless. the chocolate mouse was too sweet and despite a request for coffee, it never turned up. All in all a very disappointing, extremely poor value evening. Most of my fellow diners felt the same. Such a shame as this used to be a great restaurant, not sure what's happened but the recent expansion seems to be compromising the quality. I will not be coming back.

This was my first visit to the restaruant (bistro) and probably my last. Ordered calamari provencale. When it arrived the whole dish was cold. My mate's calamari was particularly cold with ice still in it. When we asked the waiter if the dish was supposed to be cold he apologised and said it should be hot and took it away. Ten minutes later the dishes were brought back out (everyone else in the party had finished). To give them their due the manager did come back and apologise offering some complimentary wine and explained that the sauce was supposed to be cold and the calamari warm although I doubt there was still supposed to be ice in it! . Had beef for main which was mediocre.

I have now tried this restaurant three times and each time the food has been let down by mediocre service. One of my guests asked if we were in the upstairs room because we didn't have the right connections, I can only hope the people downstairs had better service. We ordered champagne to start whilst everyone made their minds up about the food and then waited 20 minutes for it to be served, we could see the bottle sitting on the counter waiting to be opened.
We sat down at 7pm and I left at 9.45pm to catch my train having given up any hope of seeing my dessert, apparently it was very good when it arrived according to my guests who told me about it the next day!

Just the right amount of light (mostly by candle), open but cozy, authentically worn-in. A great setting for a special meal. Food was as it should be. Just the right amount of seasoning on everything, so you taste all the natural flavors without anything being too bland. The Chateaubriand was more than enough food for the two of us, served with perfect chips. Shame about the service which was cold and a little clumsy.

Went here last night for the first time and thoroughly enjoyed it. Warm, friendly atmosphere and the food was very tasty (I had the artichoke risotto being veggie) - tarte tartin was very rich so could have done with some ice cream on the side but was tasty nonetheless. They dropped our mains on the way from the kitchen so refilled our glasses as compensation - we were deep in conversation anyway so didn't mind the wait for replacements. All in all I enjoyed the experience and at £20 a head for two courses and a glass of wine felt it was good value. Looking forward to returning and sitting outside in the summer.

Went for a meal with colleagues last Friday evening. The atmosphere was lovely and relaxed: they allowed us to linger at our table for more drinks after we'd finished the meal.
The staff were reasonably helpful, but we had to send back two bottles of white wine as they tasted off. The food was also a little disappointing.
Overall a nice experience but I wasn't blown away.
