The overall 8/10 rating is about right. Prism is a reliable restaurant with efficient service but it lacks atmosphere and the bill tends to come in higher than you might expect. The food is well presented but lacks the 'wow' factor you might expect from a top-end restaurant.

I was taken here by a customer the other day. The venue is pretty original (an old Bank Building) and the food is your usual modern European fayre, with "beautiful people" serving you.

I lunch at Prism every few months, generally with clients. One of several things that impresses me about Prism is that it is possible to remain focused on discussions while i) the room fills with the lunch crowd around you ii) the staff anticipate your needs. I believe this is only possible when a restaurant takes its 'Service' as seriously as Prism does.

At my last lunch, Prism received six solid votes of approval. Service was effortless and very well balanced. The sommelier was very helpful and arrived within a second of me looking up. Enjoyed the Tyrrells Semillon very much: c'mon Australia!.

My salmon was cooked-through as I requested (brilliant touch by the waitress who anticipated my request by 2 seconds). My fellow diners confirmed their meals were excellent, generally tending towards the fish side of the menu. Overall, the lunch was a cut above.

Yum! Go here for breakfast, I did not realise they were open for breakfast until recently - always been a fan at both lunchtime and dinner - this place metaphorses from gorgoeus restaurant to glamorous bar to funky downstairs bar... and now as I found out breakfast. Perfectly cooked eggs benedict with generous bacon and really good pancakes with loads of maple syrup. As always, really lovely staff who really seem to take pleasure in looking after you.

We eventually got to Prism after mistakenly queueing for Revolution next door - we were a bit dazed and confused having just got in from Tokyo - it was 3am our time. The restaurant is a beautiful space - a large, high white room with columns, cornices, light projections and contemporary furniture. It feels cool and elegant and maybe it wasn't the sort of place that we should have brought our 18 month old daughter. However, the staff (and fellow customers) couldn't have been more considerate. The service was truly outstanding throughout the evening. The maitre'd (I assume) and the waiters were absolutely charming and friendly. They were also able to provide crayons and paper for our little girl, which we really didn't expect given the character of the place. The service really helped make our evening.

The food was consistently delicious and elegantly presented. Starters of scallops (with, I think, caramel crisp and curried parsnip puree) and crab (with daikon) were fabulous - delicate but with vivid, unusual flavours and textures. Our mains of dorade (with tortellini?) and halibut (with oysters and caviar) were excellent too, but less dramatically exciting. Desserts (sticky toffee pudding and chocolate 3 ways) were intensely attractive, both in terms of taste and appearance.

The drink was really good too - we had champagne, a bottle of Gavi and a recommended dessert wine which were all oustanding, served by an informative and friendly sommelier.

The restaurant is linked to a bar downstairs, which is grungier, so this place has a (very) slight edge to it. Sabres of Paradise on the soundsystem was great too.

Pretend you live a glamorous life and go to Prism... it's worth it.

Went for lunch and as an all round package enjoyed the place. Starters good, main course good, desert good.

Felt portions just too small, presentation just too flowery, and service just too slow.

Would not have any reservations in returning but can think of a place or two i'd consider first.

I went here last Thursday for a gourmet dinner evening and it was certainly that. I have never been so full not only on food but also such fascinating information about the wine. It was an australain wine evening and they had the actual winemaker there and he was so passionate. If your a foodie you must go to there next gourmet evening - I will certainly be back!

This is definitely not a romantic restaurant. It's a very nice place, but the high ceilings don't make it cosy. This wasn't the main problem though. I can understand that football is important but I definitely wasn't expecting a large TV at the bar, specially when nobody was interested. The food was very nice and the service kind enough to turn off the volume on the TV, but I left with one thing on my mind - to write a review and warn people not to go to Prism for a romantic dinner.

I am a huge fan of Prism. As a PA I always book my boss in here, one because he loves it but also because the more I book there the more points I get. They run a PA club so I build up points and once you reach a certain number they give you a voucher to dine at the OXO Tower, also owned by Harvey Nics. To fellow PA's out there - you must ask if you can join! I go here a lot after work also as they serve the best cocktails!

My sister and I both work in the city and decided to catch up for drink somewhere equidistant between the two of us after work. We were absolutely overwhelmed by the genuinely enthusiastic welcome at what looks like the entrance to an exclusive members only establishment. From begining to end we felt attentively looked after and were recommended a few superb cocktails with a couple of tapas style bites.
