I went to the restaurant for lunch a few days back on account of the good reviews. The service was bland, and the food not really up to the reviews. I have had much better French food at the same price.

However, what really upset me was that a day after the meal, I realised that I was charged twice for the same amount when I was online checking my credit card statement. When I called the restaurant to clarify, they say they will call me back within a day to resolve this. It has been 3 days and I have still to hear from them, despite my several calls.

Very very bad service and experience. Wont' go there again.

Went there post theatre last Wednesday. Very quiet and not sure what to expect. Opted for the a la carte. The food was delicious. The service outstanding and we left feeling pampered and vowed to return. OH had snails followed by tuna. Greedy guts me had crab cake, calves liver and creme brulee. Yummy!

Walked in off the street last night and got a table straight away around 7.00pm, the restaurant is cramped with lots of tables squeezed in.

The choice on the menu was good and decent sized portions. The wine list was not the most extensive but varied, however more worryingly was the lack of a sommelier to assist in the choice of wine, the waitress tried to assist but with no avail.

The meal was leisurely and not rushed, although the service was generally poor with the general attitude of the staff appalling. To add to insult the 15% service charge is just over the top!

Overall this was a very bog standard experience and there are far better restaurants to eat at in London.

We had a visiting professor of drama from USA and after a Saturday matinee wanted an early dinner. Took advantage of the special offer. Absolutley first rate. Maitre'd especially helpful and waitress charming . Food well prepared and presented. It was exactly what w required. Our friend took a card and expects to go again during his trip.

First of all when we entered we were not greeted at all with a pleasant smile or the normal friendliness you would expect. We chose to ignore this, the waitress seemed like it was to much bother to find us a table. This was not very welcoming but we decided that we would see how it went. We had tagliatelle pasta with crab. This was quite average and I would say slightly overpriced. There was no ambience and staff did not appear to be very friendly. My first and only visit to this restaurant.

Myself and my boyfriend took advantage of the special offer (set menu and glass of Kir Royale). I was apprehensive having not seen the set menu prior to booking, but ensured that I would be able to still choose from the Al a Carte should I not find anything I liked.

I was relieved to find that the choice on the set menu is excellent. We arrived and were greeted and sat promptly by the window, discreetly hidden from public view by the window dressing.

The service was excellent, with much attention to detail. The only issue really was that our waitress had not tried the menu, and was unable to answer our questions herself but was happy to seek others advice. The food arrived and is in generous portions, and served in a timely manner. At no point did we feel rushed or bothered by the waiting staff. the ambience is sedate and rather clean looking, compunded by the muted lighting. Although a small space and busy when we arrived, even if it was filled to capacity I doubt you would feel crowded. The no music policy is also a rare treat.

thoroughly enjoyed the food, and the evening. Will definately go again.

I pre - booked this restaurant after reading about it on this website. I wanted to take my boyfriend out for a romantic meal in London, and we were not let down, the food was top notch...especially the duck! And the service was equally as great, the waiting staff were always smiling! We had a really lovely evening, thank you Le Deuxieme, i shall definitely recommend you to a friend!

As my office is around the corner from here I have eaten here many times. It is usually my first choice for a business lunch and we have had our company Christmas meal here twice.

The food has always been excellent, well prepared and well presented. The choice of items on the menu is very good, scallops are always nice as are most of the other starters. The service can be a bit spotty and the Maitre de they had there at one time was a really stuck up prat. I haven't seen him for a while now so perhaps he's working somewhere else.

The whole place is pretty small so if you are concerend about the table you are likely to be given then I would call to arrange it when booking. I have walked in off the street but it is often full especially on Friday's.

Booked this place via toptable.we have been previously and been quite impressed but not this time.Restaurant claimed booking was for 9pm although we had written confirmation for 8pm.We were seasted at a table for 4 right infront of the door.It was freezing each time the door was opened and when new diners arrived they all collected next to our table and nearly joined us for dinner! We asked for another table but this was denied so we phoned another restaurant ]and left!I am afraid we will never return to this restaurant and certainly would not recommend the service.
