Satsuma

Comparisons to Wagamama are pretty obvious - canteen style brisk service and decent food. Prices were slightly too high in my book, all the food - sushi and hot dishes were good just about 10-20% more than they should have been. Good to stop by for a quick refuel though but I would probably choose Kulu Kulu for sushi.

No problem with service etc but that was probably because I didn't expect much - did find the service charge on the bill cheeky - I didn't have a problem paying as the staff were efficient but surely in this type of establishment it should be optional.

The place is done out like a slightly classier Waga but I found the seats a little to close together and ended up nearly crossing chopsticks with the guy next to me.

In summary if you want solid tasty Japanese food you could do a lot worse. Definitely worth a visit.

We went to satsuma last night and I have to admit None of us will be going back there again!!!! The service from the staff was appaling! they were rude and unfriendly, after 10 minutes of sitting down we got a "what do u want" without a smile or eye contact, we then had the food dumped on our table, no one came up to see if we wanted another drink or if the food was ok (to be honest the food was good and the prices reasonable)

When we finished the waitress just took the plates and never asked about desserts or drinks. We had to literally put our hands in the air for a waitress, who just came over and looked at us. AND THE BIGGEST INSULT OF ALL!... the compulsary 12.5% service charge on our bill!!!! Don't get me wrong i tip all the time, but I TIP FOR GOOD FRIENDLY SERVICE!!!!!! i really resent giving away money to rude, couldnt care less staff!! My advice... If you like good japanese food go there but if you also like a good atmosphere and nice staff never even consider walking through their door!!!! Just look inside and think that it looks like a nice place then walk on!!!!!! Word of mouth advertising is the best there is and myself and my friends will be suggesting to all we know to never ever go there!!!!! I hope a manager or owner of this restaurant reads this as he/she has a big problem to sort out!

I went to Satsuma for dinner last week and loved it!

I was a little hesitant to go in at first as it resembled Wagamamas in it's interior style and I'm not a huge fan on Wagamamas, but the food was very authentic and fantastic value for money. I would definitely go here again!

I've been here many times for the excellent food, but the service is appalling. Had to wait over 30 minutes last time for the bill in a half-empty restaurant (downstairs). I was close to walking out. However, their bento boxes are fantastic and reasonably priced for such a lot of food. If you're in no rush, it's worth the punt.

Found this great place by accident. Best Sushi I had in a very long time. Lovely decorated.

Ramen is just a great dish for only 6 £. Went there twice already, will go much more often. The people going there are fashionable and cool and in combination with the spectacular sushi make it a secret spot.

You wanna show off with knowing cool places for a quick bite in London: Put this one on your list!

I have been to Satsuma a few times now and the last time I went I was impressed with the waiter that served us. He was very friendly and helpful and even apologised when our food was slow to come even though it was very busy that night.

I usually order the bento box and its very filling and decent value for money.

I would definitely come back here to eat again, its nothing fancy but the food is decent.

This place is OK, it is nothing special. It is very noisy, and I have always found the service to be bad. However, the food is fairly good and not too expensive. It's a good plac to stop off to eat if you are out having a few drinks in the middle of soho.

Such bad service! Got 1/4 of our orders wrong. Gave chicken teriyaki instead of salmon. Left out my friends drink and had to wait ages before it finally arrived. I ordered only a handroll intending to share the other food with my party. It was the last thing to arrive and had to request it again, then they charged it twice on the bill! Never going there again even though the food served is good.

The food is delicious, the curry!! it was the best, it's probably because I do not eat quite often curry but I like the place.
