I should have written this review ages ago as my boyfriend and I actually dined at MJU in August...but never late than never and the experience was so good that it deserves a review!

Anyone looking for a real dining experience, a change from the norm or an opportunity to try a taster menu really should go to MJU

We had the 10-course taster menu which was simply divine! There is no "menu" so each course that arrives is a surprise (the waiting staff do ask beforehand what you like/dislike, any allergies etc). As the waiter told us beforehand you soon lose track of how many courses you've had....this is true (perhaps aided by the wine pairing!) and adds to the fun of the dining experience.

To the important stuff - the food is fantastic! The range of dishes and quality of ingredients is exquisite! The menu started with a definite Eastern influence and worked through to more of a French finish. The dishes ranged from a sashimi plate through to crab linguine through to the most delicious roast duck ever!

We also had the wine pairing - each wine accompanied the dish perfectly - often rather unusual but perfectly selected choices. The sommeliers explanation is interesting and suitably informative. There is a range of options for the wine pairings with varying prices – we chose the MJU standard range and found it excellent.

The service was lovely – the staff were professional and friendly.

This is somewhere for a real dining experience as opposed to just a quick dinner out. I would highly recommend it for a special occasion or when you just want to indulge in great food and wine! I can assure you it will tantalise your taste-buds!

"Exceptional" says it all. Service, wines, food......maybe a tad lacking in ambience, but hey, at £65 for a 7+ course tasting menu with wines, who's complaining?

I asked for a nice, quiet table and we got the best in the house; the waiters were youthful, keen and helpful. The food was fascinating - don't expect orthodox combinations, but do expect to leave satiated. The Wine tasting was very interesting indeed.

The wines were not exceptional by pedigree or quality, but certainly by character. A cool-climate Chilean chardonnay with lots of sweet, fine-grained oak paired with foie gras, scallops and chorizo!?!?! Believe me, it works, but in such a novel fashion. I am deeply impressed. Roll on the July tasting menu.

One little thing - do turn down the lights and find a way of drowning the football TV noise from the bar below...........

We came to Mju based on a friend's recommendation for a good weekend dinner. We were also attracted by Mju's Asian-French fusion offerings. And we were not disappointed.

In order to sample the best of Mju, we chose the 5-course tasting menu with paired wines. Although each course was not over-the-top fantastic, we were quite impressed by the chef's ability to produce great fusion food by throwing in a little Japanese and Chinese influences in typical French dishes.

The wine sommelier was also very attentive, taking time to introduce each wine that came with each course. Overall service was friendly and waiter responses were quick. Decor was modern and simplistic yet rich colours on fabrics and furniture created an inviting atmosphere.

On the whole dinner took 2.5 hours. So if you're asking for the tasting menu, make sure you have made time for a long dinner.

We have since been back to Mju twice.

We went to the restaurant to meet some friends from Australia and had a really nice evening. The service was great - really friendly and efficient. The food was really good - we were a bit daunted by the menu at first glance but it was absolutely delicious. The only thing was that it was expensive but it many ways well worth it - we had one of those really enjoyable evenings at the restaurant and I'd definately recommend it. Looking forward to my next visit.

went there Saturday 1st and had a fantastic time.

The menu was superb with very well executed dish of wich an Egg cocotte with wild mushrooms showed fantastic richness and all the ingredients were of top quality.

The service was attentive, laidback and we felt welcomed and looked after as VIp's.

Excellent wine selection, presented with flair and matching every dish, the sommelier gave us the chance to sample the same wine from different vintages, a nice touch and a bit of learning with our pleasure.

Strongly recommanded, will go back as often as the purse will allow.

Went there for the first time during January and had the 8-course Detox Menu with oysters.

Must admit the Food was EXCELLENT and very well presented. Portions were quite small but every dish was something new to taste. Overall I would say the food was amazing. Favorite dish was the tuna/seabass sashimi with the wasabi icecream!

I was also amazed by the service - I have also been to Hakkasan and Nobu and I was not that impressed with the level of service.

All in all, I would recommend this restaurant anytime although must admit a bit over-priced.

This restaurant seems to have mixed reviews, so we tried it out last month. (December) It's overpriced and for december it was empty. Decor needs changing and it felt un welcoming. we wont be going back and will be telling others too

Great food but if you are not a foodie then this place is not for you. Presentation fantastic, small perfectly sized portions, although the men might want to order a main dish too if doing the degustation detox menu as this is on the light side (perfect for us ladies in January though). Service was fantastic and very attentive and a great wine list. Decor...hmm... low on ambience, which is a shame as its a great space, it needs some work and simple changes would make such a difference, there are currently too many angles and sharp edges and whats with the flock green wall paper on one side of the room? Lighting needs work too - spotlights are so harsh. They were strangely playing house music too which we didn't think was terribly appropriate, something a little less clubby would have been better, but we will return despite the decor, the wagayu beef was just heaven

One foam is amusing, two is boring and by the third one you roll your eyes and scrape it off and salvage whatever was hiding underneath. In general the food was tasty even if they fussed over having too many dissimilarly flavoured ingredients in a dish and not enough different textures. Could have done without it being chronically over-salted as well. Service was attentive and helpful. The décor suffers from 90’s fusion restaurant meets painfully slick New York hotel. With the two-for-one deal, 8£ oyster surcharge, a bottle of water and 2 non-alcoholic cocktails the bill was nearly 90£ for two. If you want lots of small fiddly things artfully arranged on a plate for the amusement value, it’s not a bad way to spend a Saturday night.
