We had our own office Christmas party, os opposed ti the official ( and horrible) here and had a great time. OUr party of ight had a lovely and chatty Spanish waitress who always seemed to have a smile on her face even though the place was absolutely packed.

We had the Christmas menu at £29.50 which was a pretty good deal. the star of the starters was the parmesan and celeriac soup. I have asked for the recipe and will hopefully get it.

The Turkey was juicy and delicious and the Sea Bass was apparently amazing. Christmas pudding I have to say was on the average side. al in all we had a lovely time and were impressed by the lack of size of the bill. We then spent the rest of the night in the bar below, and one of us found a new man!

Have eaten at Rocket many times I decided to book our staff christmas party (11).

After having raved about this hidden gem in the past what a huge disappointment last night's meal was. Christmas menu reasonable at £29.50 and plenty of choice all looking delicious.

The Duck was raw, desserts disappointing. The seabass however was fabulous and such a shame we didn't get our side orders of veg at the same. The service was shoddy and considering it was a 'full house' extra staff should have been on duty. My biggest bugbear is Toilets, the Ladies room was dirty messy and I had to ask twice for toilet paper! .

The architecture of this restaurant is fabulous but the food here is really poor quality, the service is surly. The fish cakes are tolerable but the pizza tastes like cardboard and the chocolate cake that I ordered for desert seemed half-frozen, and also tasted like cardboard. I actually think they should change the name from Rocket to Cardboard to reflect the true soul and spirit of the restaurant. The service staff members sigh and almost roll their eyes in irritation when you walk in the door, even when you try to be friendly with them. When we were taken to our table I tried to brush off the food from my chair but realized it was stuck onto the fabric of the chair. Disgusting. I wanted to ask for a different table but the waiter disappeared in a hurry after seating us and it took a lot of neck-craning and finally a huge shout of "WAITER" with an SOS waving of the arms to finally get someone's attention to order our food and drinks. The waiter stood about one food back behind the table so that we had to strain ourselves and speak loudly to make our order before he dashed off. Nothing friendly, charming or helpful about the service at all. No wonder they sneak in a 12.5 % service charge- otherwise they would never receive tips. All in all an exhausting experience. My recommendation: skip the so-called restaurant and try the bar downstairs-- slightly better service and lovely cocktails.

I took a group of work colleagues here last night for our Xmas meal and we had a fantastic evening. The service was excellent and very professional and considering we had such a large groupand the restaurant was very busy- there were no delays with our order .The food was perfectly cooked and absolutely delicious and brought to the table piping hot and very well presented. All my friends were very impressed and I am sure we will book other work functions here in the future. Thanks ROCKET for a great party!!

I've been to this restaraunt a couple of times now; twice for a business lunch. The first one was great, I had a pear and roqufort salad so start with a beef salad as a main course and my guest had a huge pizza. The service and food were great.

The second time, just a week later was a completelety different experience. We were led to a seat and after making ourselves comfortable, ordering drinks etc we were asked to move tables by an abrupt member of staff. We did so without too much fuss!

We both ordered thai fishcakes to start which we both realised, on eating a forkfull each, were stone cold (dare I say just defrosted?) we sent them back and had piping hot ones delivered within about 15mins. The service was very slow this time and the apologies for the cold food weren't very forthcoming!

Given that I've had 2 polemic experiences in this restaraunt I don't know whether to give it a good review or not; the food when correct is great and the portions huge.

I'm taking another client there today. Its a bit of a lottery how my experience will turn out!

We were really impressed with this place - and that was quite a surprise. I think all of Lancashire Court is managed by the same company and the Rocket looks like the poor man's version of Hush, Le Club and Mews. But the food was excellent, the service friendly and professional, and the atmosphere was great for a Monday(we looked in the other places and they were pretty dead). It's far less pretentious than the others, and we ate in the quiet back room which was really cosy. The salads are fantastic and huge - I recommend the cold beef starter - and the pizzas are pretty much as good as pizzas can be. I had the smoked chicken and red onion marmalade with roquette, and although I can eat loads I had to take half of it home.

There is a great wine selection and the waiter was very helpful in helping us choose a bottle. He recommended the Crasto, and for a Frenchman to recommend a Portuguese wine is really unusual! In a place with these prices, you don't expect the staff to really care what you drink, so I was really impressed with that level of service.

I would definitely come back - this place shows that great food and service needn't cost the earth.

Rocket is a hidden gem amongst the hectic streets of central London. We dined here again on Thursday night following a few drinks in the new bar opposite. My friends haven't been before and I wanted to share this restaurant with them. I think they are now Rocket fans! We just wanted a quick bite to eat in a hassle free, down to earth restaurant. Rocket fits the bill. The restaurant however is looking a little shabby; it could do with a lick of paint. And I too would have to agree with the review below, the Manager is very rude and unprofessional.

We went for dinner the other night, the 3 of us had a great meal, the food as ever was very good. Loved the christmas tree, it gives a real glow to the restaurant. The only discrepancy i had this evening was the Manager. She was rude, obnoxious and in no way shape or form represents rocket in a positive manner.

Overall good. I've been to rocket before, and it's always a pleasure to dine there. I was a little disappointed at the location of our table though. I had a rubbish bin and an open supplies cupboard to look at! Our table was also dirty, but it was cleaned as soon as we asked, and the cupboard door was closed. There was nothing that could be done about the bin. I had a delicious vegetarian salad, and my fellow diners were equally as pleased. The staff were friendly and efficient. All in all, a good experience.
