The food here is as good as you would get in France, the bunny I had was sublime. It does however suffer from a slightly pompous atmosphere, you kind of feel a little out of place as an ordinary Joe going for a slap up meal with your girl. Yes the service is slow, yes it is FULL of hurray henrys but the food is very very good. So if your someone who actually works for a living, rather than living off of daddy money, you'll walk out with a greater distain for the middle classes but a rather nice feeling in your belly, which is why you went in the first place.

I was lucky enough o be taken there on 17th April and cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough.
The food was absolutely superb. It is so rare to have three courses and enjoy each of them all as much as I did. I had the warm duck salad, which was a triumph with its celeriac remoulade, however the dish that followed managed to be even better; the steamed cod was fantastic. The crisp fennel and baby artichokes set it off beautifully.
On the night the time lapsed between courses was unusually slow and clearly they were very busy however due to the attentiveness of the staff this really didn't matter a jot. The manager came over to apologise before we had even felt the inclination to say anything.
The atmosphere, the food, the really reasonable bill and the service; La Trompette and its’ team is the perfect example of the real meaning of hospitality.

Been there twice now in the last six months - both times absolutely fantastic. The food is beautiful, the service superb (in fact, I really don't know how anybody could criticise either). And use the somellier - have had some great advice (including choosing sherry/glass of cider instead of wine for our starter (foie gras)). Overall, perhaps our favourite London restaurant.

Perfect in every way.
We had a superb evening. The staff were friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. The food and wine were outstanding, especially my rabbit ravioli starter. The decor and atmosphere were relaxng, and all for a very reasonable price.
All in all it could not have been better.
You must try this restaurant.

Having taken my girlfriend here to try and convince her that French cuisine is the best, i was not disappointed.
Fantastic food, good value, lovely relaxed atmosphere and a great all round experience.
A week later we went to Chez Bruz and to my surprise i thought La Trompette pipped it at the post in terms of food.

We had a really lovely time in this excellent restaurant. Dinner was to die for. Every course was faultless and the service was very friendly and attentive.
I cannot recommend this restaurant too highly.

I'm surprised at the varied reviews here, I've eaten twice in the last few months and on both occasions had a really lovely experience. Today, Sunday lunch, my boudin blanc was followed by a succulent lamb main course and a pear and almond tart to die for! It's clearly v.v.v.popular (they were packed today) but the noise level was bearable and the waiter, though busy, was attentive without being overbearing. I live in Fulham and would certainly travel to eat here again. Top drawer

After having a delightful evening at The Glasshouse my partner and I thought it essential that we try La Trompette which had had comparatively better reviews than it's sister restaurant.
The restaurant is quite charming with a warm atmosphere so walking in you are confident that you will have a good experience. How wrong. The service was appalling for a restaurant of this standard, the waiters were slow, the wait between courses was painful.
Much to my sheer horror when approaching the Head Waiter / Restaurant Supervisor about the poor service and complaint about my dessert (for which I received an appalling fob off: he obviously had not considered that whilst I am but 24 years old and in his opinion did not know what I was talking about - that actually my Father had been an excellent French Sous Chef so actually I did) - we had a rude and defensive attitude. The 'Customer is always right' policy clearly did not exist. Utterly appalling - I have had better service at Cafe Rouge!
The service really did let down La Trompette, for anyone considering dining here - I urge you to reconsider and instead try The Glasshouse. With the similarities in menu - and 100 times better service you'll have nothing to lose.

Having read all the consistently good reviews here i was very excited when my boyfriend booked a table here for my birthday. However, we were given a table - squeezed in between 2 other couples so that we could arely hear ur own conversation. intimate is nice but this was far too personal! Food was good - especially the choices of desserts but not enough to make me rush back in a hurry. Waiters also seemed far more concerned with the larger tables....perhaps more interested in making a sizeable tip?
