Market Place

Living and working in the West End offers many a social avenue, none as satisfying as Market Place. I love to have a bit of a boogie and Market Place offers a fabulous variety. Live DJ's six nights a week, great drink and food menu and friendly staff guaruntee an enjoyable evening. Anyone up for a good time, head to Market Place, it rocks!!

I work around the corner from Market Place and generally enjoy the food and ambiance. The DJ,s are a bit hit and miss but on occasion really very good. I have one complaint about the staff though, there seems to be a lot of shouting and aggression. Does this need to be the case all the time?

Went after work yesterday: the queue to get to the bar stretched out of the door, and as usually there were 2 poor bar staff totally rushed off their feet, being hassled from all sides and looked close to collapse. The manager was nowhere in sight, with one girl repeatedly phoning to ask him to come down- no response!

The weather forecast predicted for days to expect a bright warm sunny day yesterday. Why cant they also plan for this and hire in some extra staff- to enable us to not waste half an evening stood at a bar and your poor staff to have it a bit easier? To have 2 staff serving an after work crowd on a hot day, with around 40 people stood at a bar is absolutely ludicrous and a very strange way of conducting business.

I waited for half an hour to get 2 drinks- and when this is inside in room that- quite frankly- stinks this is incredibly unpleasant and irritating! We then waited a further 30 minutes just to get some pita breads and dips.

This has happened several times now and have learnt my lesson: will not be back!

One of the best bars with the best staff in Central London. A night for everyone with a different DJ and a different flavour for every night in the month. The food is highly recommended and seems lovlingly prepared. Spare a smile for the people who look after you there, I guarantee you will more than likely get one in return...

as i work near this bar it has become a fairly regular haunt. granted, it's not know for it's friendly staff, but there's generally a good crowd and the food it good. but on saturday night some friends i decided to go there for some food after our local pub had closed. fow fair enough it was late, but i couldn't believe it when, actually as our food was being brought out, we were told we had to hurry up as it was closing time. we hadn't even finished eating when we were told by the door-men that we had to leave. the staff are more than happy to take your money but they have no respect whatsoever for you the customer. we will not be going there again.

as a man who likes his food i would especially recommend this place. i have had a lot of eating experience and this was good. my trouser size increased another size after going here!

My warm salad with pomegranite and roast medeteranean vegetables was delicious and generously sized. His burger was tasty and stacked high, if a little small - but luckily we'd also ordered some fantastic sweet potato chips with chilli sauce as a side. Yum! Reasonably priced for a late weekend lunch and not at all crowded like it is during the evenings after work!

Great space, great music and great food platters but the female staff are really surley and rude - they constantly come across as irritated when you order your drinks, that is when they can be bothered to ask you what you want. I had to wait until 2 of them had finished their chat before, with a huff, one of them deigned to serve me. If they are not happy to be serving in a bar, they shouldn't take it out on the customer but look for another job! It has put us off going.
