Food ss awful compared to other Carluccio branches - way too greasy with little flavour. The basement is very old and dirty. Needs a lift! And change of chef.

Great atmosphere (to the previous reviewer: of course it's going to be noisy if there are over 100 people eating there!). The food has always been good when i've been there and the waiters/waitresses always quick and polite. However, there is on criteria you could add, which is "cleanliness": I would give it a 3 out of 10 as i often find my cutlery and plate in a disgusting state, plus they need to hire a toilet cleaner. I won't go into details about the toilets!

We just ordered deserts and in our case tiramisu and hot chocolate to drink. The tiramisu tasted fine. But its very noisy and chaotic upstairs. Service was good.

How did we cope before Carluccio's was invented? It's a great place for lunch. I suspect the disappointed people below were expecting a smart restaurant- well that's not what it claims to be. It's a caf(f)e- ie snacks and quick food, and it's very good at what it does. The service varies at different branches- hurried at Marylebone, friendly at islington, and useless at St John's Wood. The hot chocolate is great.

I took my parents to Carluccio’s a while ago. The tomato sauce spaghetti my father had was disgusting. The pasta was definitely pre-cooked earlier that day (!) and the sauce had no taste. I just could not believe that they failed to cook the simplest Italian dish. We should have sent it back but we didn’t… I still regret it.

I took my accountancy client there last week and they loved it. Never had so much business from them since. Definitely try the chicken.

Superb service and good food. The waiter who serves our table was very nice and ensure all our needs are met. Unfortunately we are sitting on the ground floor and is a bit hot. However I would still come back.

I went to Carluccio last night and I was totally disappointed with the quality of the food. My dish (Saltimbocca di pollo) was tasteless and the portions were rather small.

I don't know why people rave about this place. It is not good value for money and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

I've been there yesterday and will never come back.

I've nerver eaten such bad italian food. We ordered Gnocchi al Gorgonzola and Lasagnette ai funghi porcini. We had cold Gnocchi ai pomodori and Lasagnette with cheap supermarket mushrooms.

Do they really think we can't make the difference? And the wine...The Special Merlot from Lazio was awfull (not surprising for a wine from this region tough).

Had a lovely meal here recently - the location is great! The waiters were really friendly and fun though the service was pretty slow. I had a delicious mushroom lasagne and the pudds were great too. Agree about the stale bread though!
