That last review is so fake it is unbelievable. I was there last Saturday and was utterly disappointed. My mate and I were there for lunch around 1 and I'm pretty sure we were the first to order meals but it still took 50 minutes to get our two sandwiches! I'm pretty sure it doesnt take that long cook a sausage. Oh and my salad was salty for some reason. If I want salt on my sandwich I'll do it myself thank you very much. It looked like there were 3 staff behind the bar and none in the kitchen.

At least the Guinness was cold.

I was invited with some friends to a leaving do and was amazed at the transformation since coming under new management.

The draught beer was amazing. Peroni, Leffe Blond, Heiniken, Stella, Amstel and Becks Vier! What more could I want! The little lady was also very impressed by the selection of Vino.

We ate some amazing gastro pub food.....actually probably the best I've had in London.

Go there! or you'll regret it.

I much enjoyed the place in the past (see my previous review) and took someone for lunch in May 2007, apprently under new management. I remeber exquisite lunches with lots of flavour and imagination, never dull. When I saw their menu this time I was a bit worried: it all sounded a bit of an English pub. My worst fears materialised: what I got was a glorified fish-and-chips serving - fresh but zero flavour. My colleague did not finish his burger. Chips were deep-fried (pan-fried in the past). Service was next to none. And, we were offered ketchup. Sorry chaps but this GASTROPUB IS NO MORE. (Do not get me wrong, the food was eadible)

Currently not serving food as under new management. Worth phoning beforehand. Likely to be serving once new management start. They are starting on 1st April 2007. My ratings are based on the old management.

This traditional pub turned into a GastroPub few years ago getting a 'proper' European chef. The food beats expectations, the atmosphere choice is between a very noisy downstairs pub hall and a quiet upstaits room. Waiting is fine. The 'locals' are an educated bunch of I think mainly doctors from the surrounding hospitals and institutes.

I have been to this pub quite a few times and think the food is great. The wait is always quite long, but the freshly made food more than makes up for it. The service is a bit quirky and it can get smoky downstairs, however the upstairs dining room is non-smoking. Well worth a visit!
