Had an excellent lunch recently at this wonderfully located riverside restaurant. There have been some notable improvements since I dined there a few years ago with new seating and smart furnishings but the food was as good as ever. Classic dishes like Cumberland Sausages with mash, sprout tops & shallot gravy and Rib-Eye steak with chips, field mushrooms, bearnaise and watercress were cooked simply but incredibly tasty. A fond return to a well-run, friendly brasserie - I certainly won't be leaving it as long between visits.

Went for lunch there yesterday 1st March they do a lunch deal Mon to Thursday well worth it 2 courses £13.50 but both plumped for the linguini at £10 with a free glass of wine (hey you have to get those deals!!) Seafood linguini absolutely delicious wine even better followed by rhubarb syllabub all yummy definitely recommend. Staff so friendly and helpful plus the big bonus you get a constant changing vista of the the beautiful Thames!

At the moment The Depot has got a great Mon-Thurs 2 course dinner menu for £10. Absolute bargain. The food is made with lovely ingredients - simple combinations and nothing overpowering the other.

The service is not the best - just a bit slow - the restaurant was not exactly full and yet there were 5 staff stood around trying to ignore our signals to order/ salt and pepper/ clear the plates/ get another drink/ bring bill. You get the picture. All round very delicious food, good portions and great value for a mid week treat!

just had a really good dinner at The Depot and unaccustomed as I am...! I was so impressed with the food that I wanted to congratulate the chef and spread the word, amazingly couldn't fault it in any respect and my scallops with green mango salad were exceptional but what has prompted me to post this review was my pudding, an almond, pear, fragipane tart...wow, full marks and I asked for the recipe which they gleefully gave me. Lovely ambience and river setting to die for, well done all involved, we'll be back. It may not be easy to find, thats another story, but well worth the journey from Earlsfield.

we recently ate at this lovely riverside restaurant having been highly recommended its food and ambience and glad to say were really impressed with well sourced ingedients and unpretentious style, just up our street, they seemed to know what they were doing from informal yet confident approach to tasty well cooked food. the menu was well varied and good value, especcially enjoyed bream with a delicious risotto and fragipane tart was awesome. we returned for the much hyped sunday lunch with the rest of the family and 3 hours later left in high spirits having thoroughly enjoyed a very well put together roast, greengage and apple

crumble and an almond and pear tart which received rave reviews. we all loved it and thought we'd spread the word so if you go we hope you'll enjoy it as much as we did. well done The Depot, keep up the good work.

We really enjoyed our evening at the Depot. The place is RIGHT on the river, has great views and makes the most of the natural light as the sun sets. Great for epopel watching also. Starter of seared tuna was scrummy. Trout on crayfish risotto was also lovely, although the trout was slightly overdone. We were disappointed with a main of Duck as it was swimming in a very overpowering chinese sauce, which was far too salty and there was far too much of it. Otherwise a great place. We will return, but wont choose the duck. Service is impeccable. Not too fussy but really attentive.

This time we were here for a Special Occasion having been many times before. Our Wedding Anniversary.

6 of us attended.

We had booked the restaurant for 9.15 and arrived on time.

After sitting down we had to wait 10 mins to order some drink.

Another 30 minutes later eventually our order was taken.

45 minutes later our 1st course arrived. My soup was respectably cold (it had plenty of time) but not everybody was happy with what they had.

We had of course by then finished all our wine and ordered more and after finishing were apalled to find that we had to wait at least another 45 minutes for our main course to arrive.

Again we have had better food there before, maybe they were having an off night.

We were then left and the restaurant was empty at the far end, clearing up going on.

A waiter had to be called 20 minutes after our plates had been cleared and by then no-one wanted a desert, so we finished up with coffee.

We felt overall that in all the times we have visited the restaurant since it first started this was definitely sub standard and has altered our opinion and our friends on going.

On leaving I mentioned to the Manager the service was slow that night and his excuse was to say only that they had a large party in.

So much for loyalty!

I have received an email and the manager is supposed to be contacting me at the beginning of this week but have not heard back yet.

A very tastefully decorated, spacious restaurant with beautiful views over the Thames. We went there as a large group for a birthday dinner recently. On the positive side, we found the food delicious and cooked to absolute perfection. There are some extremely good, unusual choices on the menu. My husband says the steak he enjoyed at The Depot is the best he has ever tasted in London! On the negative side, we were cursed with a terribly rude, incredibly slow and inefficient service. We waited for just under 30 minutes for our drinks order. We opted for the 3-course set menu and had a 45 minute wait for both the starters and again before the main course. We requested to have our deserts immediately after our main course as we needed to get home for our babysitter and were told that that would not be a problem. Half an hour later we were still 'desertless' and decided to leave. We received absolutely NO APOLOGY for the poor service and lack of desert, even upon prompting for one. We basically felt ignored most of the evening. Despite the positives, the Depot's shortcomings sadly outweigh the positives and I would definately give it a miss in the future.
