the service at this place is laughable!! so bad! we went to Sanderson's for a few drinks in the garden after a really nice dinner at another place in Soho, and we were sooo disappointed! We expected it to be pricy but if you pay £40 for their cheepest bottle of red. at least you expect the service to be above average (or satisfying at the least). no way! the waiters just ran around like chickens talking to eachother and it took us nearly 10 mins before we could order (they were not even busy). they had no knowledge about the wine, and no memory of what we ordered, and it took the waiter 15 mins (!) to bring the wine and the glasses to our table. Then they charged us £15 for water and another 10 % extra for service (what service?) We were so disappointed with the whole experience and I can't be bothered ever going there again.

ME AND THE GIRLFRIEND WENT TO THIS HIGHLY FUSSED ABOUT PLACE FOR MY BIRTHDAY. WE HAD A LOVELY EVENING TILL WE RECIEVED THE HEAVY BILL. I MUST SAY FOOD WAS GOOD ALONG WITH THE SERVICE, DECOR ECT.. BUT BE AWARE THIS MEAL COULD COST YOU AROUND THE THREE FIGURE MARK FOR THE PAIR OF YOU AND THATS NOT GOING OVER THE TOP. NOT A GREAT DEAL OF CHANGE OUT OF 250 POUNDS. MENU COULD BE LAID OUT CLEARER TO READ.

We breakfasted at the Sanderson on a Sunday and haev to say that it was a very disappointing experience. The service was attentive but it was badly let down by the quality of the food. At £22.50 for a full english breakfast you would expect more than tinned mushrooms, frozen hash browns that you get by the dozen from the supermarket freezer adn the poached eggs were the wrong side room temperature.

Will not return.

Went to Spoon on Saturday night. Was it just us or is the menu really over-complicated? When I asked for a waiter to explain it, I was told that it was his first night and he could only recommend the dishes he'd seen earlier that evening. We opted for the vegetarian menu and the food was very good, but the service was terrible. The attitude of staff just make you feel uncomfortable rather than relaxed. My overall impression was one of dissapointment.

I was surprised upon reaching the Sandersons Hotel what a drap disinteresting building the hotel was. It looked like an office block from the 70's. As the restaurant was booked I still proceeded. I am glad I did as upon entering my breath was taken away. To the right was a huge long bar and to left a quieter darker bar for a more intimate drink.

As our table was ready we were taken to our seats by a very polite lady and given our menu's.

Spoon have an unusual system where the menu is split into 3 sections. A mains, sauce and accompaniment. You choose one from each of the selections to make up your dish.

The food was without question excellently cooked and of a decent portion.

My main was the belly of pork. It did not have a crunchy crackling but a caramalised skin, which was not rubbery but succulent and cut like butter. To accompany my pork I had mash and a veil Ju. This is where things fell down. You pay chefs for not just their ability to cook food but also their creativity and getting the balance to a meal just right. As it was left to me I felt that, though the meal was tasty, it lacked balance.

In regards to the service, though it started well as the restaurant filled up (we had an early table) and obviously richer clientele arrived we were forgotten. We waited constantly for drinks and nearly half an hour for our bill.

In conclusion, food was excellently cooked but as with my meal can go wrong if you make the wrong choices, ambience very staid and though in some restaurants this can feel intimate, in Spoon it felt uncomfortable (the bar area though has an energy), service not bad, but not good. Value for money? No, way to overpriced.

visited spoon+ @ the sanderson today for lunch my friends 23rd Birthday big dissapointment on the £25.00 deal it consisted of 1 set menu with no accommodation for vegietarians. The meal was nice, portions very much so on the small side filling because we had a complimentary glass of champagne but if it was a normal lunchtime i would never have been lled up service was excellent was waited on hand and foot practically but as stated before portion sizes way tooooo small!!!

i would like to share the amazing experience i had, i went there on saturday evening and i had a lovely time, the staff were very friendly i felt so welcome. i choose to have the chef testing menu and the food was amazing, and it amazed me the way the chef is changing the food into art. the wine were very tasty and a good accordance with the food. i will never forget the experience i had and for sure i will be back.

I never write on these reviews but felt compelled to after I was so sorely disappointed. We had taken clients there for lunch and I have to say it was embarrassing, the portion size was ridiculously small, the only thing that filled us up (bear in mind i am a 7 stone girl) was the £8 portion of chips.

The service was dreadful we had to keep calling them over only to get a rather irritated "be right with you" look. I'm all for trendy food and paying for nice restaurants but I also want to feel satisfied and feel like it was money well spent.

The bar is great but I'd skip the restaurant.
