Thursday, December 02, 2010 - No complaints about the short but sweet du jour lunch and early dinner menu either, which changes every two weeks. Game terrine, fruit chutney, radish and toast sounds a bit dull, but wasn't. The terrine was as rustic as incest and as chunky as a well-loved sweater...My rabbit lasagne was so precisely brick shaped it could have come from a mould. Nothing wrong with that, it means Bryn got the sauce thickness just right as well as the ratio of pasta to meat. It was a mildly gamey ragu with the unique tones of rabbit making it rather special and with sweet carrot and smoky bacon adding familiar notes.

Saturday, November 06, 2010 - I had a pig's head and black pudding terrine served with small cubes of apple jelly. It was brilliant, light and wonderfully piggy. The GBM dish of turbot and oxtail was off that day (stifled sob), so I had halibut with bacon and peas. The head waiter assuaged my concern that this might be too bacony, and he was right, since the flavour was salty and deep, but not porky, and beautifully balanced the peas and crisp fish. Pud was great, too - ethereal dark chocolate mousse served on chopped mango, with three lovely madeleines on the side. Treacle tart was thick and dark and not oversweet.

I too am amazed by the review two below this.

Bryns food is sublime..the staff are welcoming and efficient and Odette's have one of the best Maitre D's in the business.

I think in restuarants as in so much in life you get back what you give out....

Having read many conflicting reviews including a rather critical one from Andy Hayler we have given this place a bit of a miss in the last year but went there after a disastrous meal at another restaurant in primrose hill- still being hungry -and ate in the bar downstairs.

It was very good indeed and service although not effusive was fine. This encourages us to try the main restaurant again.

I went to Odette's for lunch on Sunday 30 May, it was the first time that I have been there and I was pleasantly suprised, the food was beautifully presented by the manager who also paired our meal with wines for each course it was absolutelly wonderful. We finished our meal with coffee on the terrace, what a delightful afternoon, I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys excellent food and service.

We went to odettes last night for dinner , we had had a bad experience 2 years ago and was told things had changed so decided to give it another go. Nothing had changed, bad service , surly, grumpy waiter, no attention to detail. We ordered champagne to start with which after 10 mins we had to remind the waiter to bring, same with our white wine. The food was fine but nothing memorable and ruined due to the unrelaxing atmosphere, waiters hopelessly running around but not actually doing their job correctly or with a smile- as my husband said all v unprofessional. We left and had pudding at home.

A pretty restaurant that could be wonderful under the right management and chef.

A Girl Has To Eat - 5.5/10

Friday, March 13, 2009 - Overall, the dishes were tasty and well executed. There was a real depth of flavour, even if the inclusion of the jellies were questionable and the deployment of the foaming technique in the amuse bouche of butternut squash soup a little passé. A few minor alterations and Bryn William could had a superlative menu…but despite the food, much more care is needed on the service.
