I visited here last Monday and had a fabulous meal with a friend. I think it was the day after the previous reviewer visited, because we also had the pigeon (very nice) and the duck as a main. The service was casual but prompt, and the food was delicious as always. I don't know why this place has started getting bad reviews recently because it's as good as it ever was. Maybe there was a rogue waiter working there for a few weeks. Either way, it's still one of the best in London for a romantic meal, although make sure you get an upstairs table and book in advance.

Ate here last night. Faultless from start to finish. Staff were accomodating and friendly - we were quite late and they were fine with this. Great wine list; we had two bottles of an excellent New Zealand PInot Noir with our meal. The starter of wood pigeon breast on caramelised apple salad with pinenuts was sublime as was the sea bass fillet as a main, and to top it all off a delectable sticky toffee pudding with half a bottle of 1971 Don Pedro Ximenez which was heavenly. Thankyou Andrew Edmunds for a wonderful evening!

After visiting last night, as a party of three, we were given a small corner table. One of our party was called away and we were rudely informed that we were no longer welcome as there was two of us on a table for four! We paid for our water and left. Will never return and from previous reviews advise others to do the same!

Food mediocre, wine selection poor, service poor, we didn't even get an ice bucket with our white wine and since it was a very warm evening left a third of it as it was too warm to drink. The final insult was the addition of a "optional " service charge of 12.5%, when we decided to round the bill to £40 each (which gave just under 10% tip) this was not acceptable with the waitress who had to go and speak to the manager. They either need to remove optional from the service charge or improve the service (or teach staff the meaning of the word optional). I remember visiting this restaurant many times after it first opened and no longer recognise it. What I once saw as rustic charm is now scruffy, its also over crowded and over priced. I would urge anyone dinning here not to be intimadited into paying their optional 12.5% service charge.

me and my girlfreind went to andrew edmunds on a sunday evening to enjoy a nice meal. we were nicely greeted at the door, but thats where it ended. we were sat at a table that felt cold and quite crammed. when ordering our food the waitress had not explained to us at all what the food would be like and what it is we were actually ordering. thus once we had got our food it was not very good. We payed £36 for the day and to be honest felt that was money burned. all in all the evening was not good at all and felt rather disappointed at the lack of service and poor food.

Have to burst people's bubble here and agree with one other reviewer that the quality no longer matches the reputation.

Having been there several times before and found the food, service and wine absolutely sublime and the best value in London, my visit in April was very disappointing - the food was ok, but really nothing special, and the waitress seemed to have no wine recommendations for us apart from trying to get us to buy the most expensive bottle.

It therefore ends up not being very good value for money at all, and the ridiculous squeeze on space downstairs was in the past only acceptable because what one went there for was the food and romantic atmosphere.

We ate here last night and had the best time. Food exceptional, especially the navarin of venison, fabulous. My girlfriend had monkfish which she wouldn't share... nuff said. Wine list to make your heart soar and very reasonably priced. Service charming and well informed, no rush, no sycophancy, just great.

I went to Andrew Edmunds last night with 6 friends for my birthday, and I have to say it was the best birthday ever! The ambience was cosy, friendly and welcoming; the food was sublime; the wine delicious and the bill very reasonable. The service was more than friendly and we were not rushed at all by the waiter, who was efficient, courteous and even spent several minutes trying to get a good photo of all of us together (which he succeeded in doing and this is not an easy task, believe me!). I have been to this restaurant several times and I have yet to have a disappointing evening. I can’t rate this restaurant highly enough. It’s my favourite restaurant in London. Thanks for a fantastic night! I will be back soon!!!

We took a snug table, up against the wall, for 4 downstairs, which was perfect for us actually, no throughfare or anyone to bump into your chair. This place is tiny, but who cares... It's quite cool. Others are handling it.

The waiter was fast and polite. The food was better than we expected. The only reason the bill was so high was because we were in such good spirits, we stayed on the bubbly!

Thanks for a great night, we'll be back in few weeks.
