You want good fish? Then go to Fish! It's the best fish place this side of San Francisco. (And the sticky toffee pudding is to die for.)

fish! is a treat! I go regularly, and make sure to take all my visting friends there. They all love it, without exception: Fresh fresh FRESH! fish served just as you like it, and with a couple of starters that really are delicious - i am spoilt for choice between for instance the dressed crab and the calamares with fish!`s own mayonnaise; splendid!
Fridays and Saturdays, when the market is at its best, is also the best time to come to your pre-booked table for lunch. Ask for a table with "cathedral view", and you can take in the area`s history while you enjoy the faultless food with a bottle of Pinot Grigio.... - I cant wait to go back!

Bright and breezy - have been here several times and always had a sun-filled fresh-fish time. A lively atmosphere with brisk service and well prepared, consistent food.

The location was good and the atmoshpere was fun being in the market. The menu and service were good but far too expensive for what it is. Will not go back again.

This restaurant has long been one of our favourites, but over the last couple of years we have noticed a distinct decline in service. Tuesday 15th May marked possibly our last visit. We arrived at 6pm having made a reservation in wgich we said we needed to get to a concert at 7.30pm. Drinks were served promptly but then we spent 15 minutes waiting to be served although staff almost outnumbered customers - they were just standing in groups talking and completely ignoring our attempts to attract attention. Eventually I had to get up and ask to be served. The food was ok, though my wife said the vegetables were soggy. Service continued to be slow and we left without pudding or coffee.
I tried to send a comment on this to them by email, but neither of there addresses work,
Livebait here we come!

Good service, but disappointed with the food.
I ordered cod, chips and mushy peas. Which at 14.95 is rather expensive. When the food was served, the batter on my fish had a black tint and smelt of burnt cooking oil!
I sent it straight back, and to be fair the waiter did not kick up a fuss. Which was good. Only had to wait a few minutes for a replacement which was ok but not in the same league as a place like ‘The Golden Hind’.
I will not be returning. A restaurant which promises a great fish experience and lets itself down on basics like burnt cooking oil deserves not to patronised again.

our waitress was welcoming and friendly with good advice of the menu.
my mother and me enjoyed mussels to start in a nice spicy sauce.i then had the sea bass which was loverly and mum the scallops which she really enjoyed.
all in all it was a great lunch and will definetly be going again and recommending to my friends.

Popped in for quick saturday lunch. Ordered traditional fish & chips despite the price. Piece of cod, chips and mushy peas for £14+. Fish tasted like it had been pre cooked and kept warm before we ordered, chips only warm--hardly freshly cooked. Salad of rocket had wilted and slimey leaves. When bill came included the 12.5% optional service charge. Left cash to pay for food, drink and salad plus a 10% tip. This wasn't good enough for waiter who followed us out of the restaurant and asked why we hadn't paid the full amount. Service charge optional you idiot!!!! How do these palces continue to get away with it. Still as a consumer you only eat there once and make sure you tell others not to bother.

Fantastic location, Went there for lunch on saturday, so busy we had to queue for 20 mins but well worth it.
we had a table on the terrace an absolutley gorgeous day, watching the bustling market around us whilst we ate and relaxed I had halibut and chips and my wife the fish pie, no complaints about the food, service was good (considering how busy they were). I am sure these reviews before were just very unlucky.

Five of us went there last night for a birthday dinner and when we first arrived the place didn't seem to bad, we sat outside as the weather was nice and they have nice outside heaters.
We ordered some drinks and took about 5-10 mins to decide what we would like to eat whereby the waiter seemed to be getting quite irritable.
We then orderd some starters and for the mains he was trying hard to sell the fish of the day which was hake backed with cherry tomatoes and olives (£13.95). Two people in the group ordered that and two others had the Fish pie (£9.95) and one person had the scampi (£17). When the starters came out the bowls that they had given us were still dirty, they had an oil residue on them which was aweful. They took about 15 mins to clear the tables after we finished the starters. When the food eventually came out after about a 35-40min wait it was quite dissapointing. The hake was a really small portion and seemed to be more bone than fish, it was also very watery as if it had been cooked from frozen.
The scampi was also a measly portion on a small bed of salad. The fish pie was the best of the lot and seemed to be more of a potato pie than a fish pie. When we received the bill there was a long wait for them to come back when we eventually decided to just go and pay at the front as we couldn't wait any longer. We complained to the waiter....who supposedly was also the manager? His response was that we were sitting where they are not usually open so he was doing us a favour and we shouldn't expect good service if we're out there (so why seat us down there in the first place?) he couldn't comment on the food. Overall, the food was overpriced for the quality and the service was terrible. I wouldn't recommend anyone go and eat here.
