I ate dinner here with my partner last night and everything was great from the greeting when we arrived to the service during the meal. The service time was just right- we weren't looking around to see when the meals were coming and didn't feel rushed. Professional staff were happy to help. The food was great Italian with delicious flavours and real Italian coffee. I would be happy to eat here again or to bring friends here.

I read the reviews before I went to Sartoria and I was a bit worried. Me and my husband went for a birthday treat as he bought me the last minute.com voucher.

We were walmly welcomed and our coats were taken.I think the decor was very nice, classy and not too dark as prev mentioned.

We were asked if we would want our glass of bellini at the bar or at the table, we opted for at our table where we were promptly seated.

Our waiter came over and showed us the courses that we could choose from , I admit there could have been more choice but I was happy with the salmon and my husband choose the veal. We were given bread and asked if we wanted water which we did. We also ordered a bottle of white wine which was the cheapest at £18 but it was Mayfair so wasn't suprised.

The waiter was very nice and would make sure that our wine and water was topped up. The food arrived in good time( not quickly but not too long). It was very nice and you can tell effort had been made. We both had the tiramisu which was lovely. All in all in was a lovely evening . It is not too protentious but like I said is classy the staff are very nice and look after you. The food isn't massive portions but is enough. I would recommend this for a special occasion of for a treat would go again if in London.

I have eaten at this restaurant on 5 or 6 occassions & always found it very satisfactory with very good food & service. It can be quite expensive but you are in Mayfair.

Bar service at lunch time can be a bit slow, also find it a little slow with the wines.

We have always found the service attentive & correct & are happy to return.

I am Italian and find the food both good & genuine.

We are always happy to return.

I went to Sartoria as part of a conrans vouchers from my brother as a birthday gift. The voucher entitled to 2 courses from the set menu and glass of bellini for two. We arrived and was amazed on the decor and felt a bit out of place (not used to such a posh place). Having handed over our coats we were seated right by the waiters desk (where they have cutlery bread etc) I was not impressed on the seating as it was abit awkward talking when you constantly have staff behind you. We waited for the belini to arrive but hadn't until our starters came. Was dissapointed on such a small and narrow glass, 3 slips and the drink was finished! I ordered a salad and my boyfriend ordered tomato soup. Both delicious but not enough of it even though it was a starter. The waiter offered bread and that was nice but I was afraid this was charged to our bill but in the end it wasnt. At first they were attentive but when they realised you're not order extras, they soon ignored you. I ordered the spinach tagliteli and my boyfriend ordered the gnocchi. I was disappointed on such a small portion for a main! I was still hungry but my boyfriend thoroughly enjoyed his and felt full. We then asked for the bill(we ordered a bottle of water as well). We waited ages and no one seemed to care. I think becuase we didnt order much as used the voucher so they may have ignored us, despite the place wasnt very busy. Three times we asked for the bill (one time the woman didnt have a clue what we was talkign about) until finally after an hour waiting we paid the £5 water and service. I was still hungry and went in a nearby fast food chain, i know this is shameful but i was hungry!!

I wont be going there with or without a voucher. I thought the place was way over priced and portion sizes were too small. The room wasnt dark, but yes the toilets were dark too.

This place is too pretentious for me and expensive. Not worth the money if you ask me.

Wife and I went for 30th anniversary. Service very poor and first waiter treated us like second class citizens. His comments to us were rude and condiscending. Food was not worth the price. Veal was raw in places and the potatoes were burnt.Service was slow and begrudged. The bill was £108 for a basic 3 course. My wife commented that she felt like a fish out of water. Tasted OK but I have eaten a lot better for half the price. I would not recommend this so called posh eaterie to my worst enemy in case he or she came and shot me afterwards.

I'm shocked by the good reviews for this restuarant. We went to Sartoria with friends who were visiting London and were horrified by the over-priced, mediocre (at best) food that was served. Yes, the service and the atmosphere were pleasant. They were not good enough to make up for the fact that you are being completely ripped off. I would not recomment Sartoria to anyone. I would rate it negatively if I could

We booked the restaurant week "deal" , which is actually their usual pre-theatre set menu. We go out a lot in central London and have had many pre-theatre meals . Choices are usually limited but will cover all tastes and we had never had a bad experience until Sartoria. The choices were awful. The food, when it did arrive was mediocre at best. I was not served anything I couldn't cook at home myself in less than half an hour. Furthermore, for some dishes the portions were very small. The wine was lovely, but of course expensive. The "deal" came to £55 per head. There are many restaurants in London, for £55 I would recommend going somewhere else!

Nice looking restaurant. Attentive staff.

Bit too dark - I had to keep moving the candles to see what my food looked like. (And no one relit it when it went out!)

Cold draft, so we had to put our jackets back on.

Toilets really dark too. Use your hand held mirror under the spotlight in the cubicle to see what your make-up's looking like! Freezing water in the basins in the washrooms.

Few staff understand special diets.

Food nice, but really small portions. Not worth the money.

We (me and my wife) went to the Sartoria tonite almost by accident ! We have not been to London for almost 20 years and we have just arrived from Vienna. We stayed at the Marble Arch and after a long walk from the Oxford Street / Regent Street, we landed at the Sartoria. We were attracted by the ambience as looked from the outside.

Well, the service was good and the food quality was also not bad. We ordered the Lamb and the Monk Fish as main courses and they were really good. Price is clearly a bit on the high side as compared with my other experience elsewhere in Europe but it is London afterall.

A very good dining experience after being away for 20 years; perhaps with the slight exception that lady at the reception wasn't too helpful upon departure.

Overall, a very recommendable restaurant.

On Saturday my husband and I had our first baby free night out in London in over 18 months and were luckily enough to have a Conran restaurant voucher. I booked the Sartoria after reading mixed reviews as we also wanted to see the Christmas lights and our evening was a success. On our arrival we enjoyed a drink at the bar, which was modern and comfortable, and would recommend it for a quiet drink after a busy day of shopping or being a tourist. The service during dinner was one of the best we have seen in London, the food enjoyable and the wine we were recommended was excellent. Even though it is pricey (though not by London standards) I would go back as we liked the location, that it wasn't noisy and there was no rush for us to finish.
