We went there last night. The service and atmosphere was good, but the food wasn't worth 200£ as the lobster soup as my started was VERY salty, however waiter assured me it won't be. Same with my main, I ordered grilled scallops which were super salty as well. The sea bass was very dry and didn't taste much...I get much better fish from my local inexpensive Turkish restaurant...

After reading glowing reviews about this restaurant we went with high expectations. However, we were badly let down by the food fundamentally. Boring boring and very expensive. I started with smoked salmon with caviar, poached quail eggs and sour cream - eggs were more than poached to the point of stone-cold-hard-boiled and missing sour cream! Don't even start with the main course, I really hate it when restaurants exclude the spuds and vegetables and still charge £30 for the main course! Felt robbed. The restaurant was barely a quarter full on a Saturday night. At about £70 per head (one glass of wine each) I've had better meals elsewhere.
PS: Is it a little weird to serve olives in a French restaurant???

After moving to London at the end of last year, my father visited me and took me to Poissonnerie de l'Avenue and I have since been back there numerous times taking friends and family who have enjoyed it as much as I have.
The atmosphere is relaxed and the staff are extremely attentative.
Having tried numerous items from the menu, I have personally had nothing but excellent food and excellent service (on only one occasion was my sisters bouillabaisse slightly overcooked)
The seafood platter I shared with my father was so fresh and perfectly cooked. As a 21 year-old undergraduate, I wouldn't splash out on this platter very often but there is such a variety of choice on the menu that it doesn't have to break the balance!
This probably isn't the right place for a "big night out" however it's perfect for a quiet, relaxed dinner with friends and family.
The white wine is perfectly chilled and the range they have available on the menu is great - allbeit very confusing with my lack of knowledge of wines and their regions!!
Definately worth a visit!
