I've been to Nipa about 10 times now and i have to say that the food has always been good. The service can sometimes be slow depending on how busy they are but generally they are friendly and polite (the manager gave us a free bottle of wine last time)
The dry aromatic curry is by far the best dish on the menu, the soft shell crab (starter) is also a great dish (but can be a bit greasy). For veggie's try the sour mushroom soup. And the coconut ice cream is a great end to the meal
I'd def recommend this restaurant for quality and authentic thai food.

I have been here twice and I think food is good but not brilliant and also you should remember that if you do not spend lots of money or if they feel you are not going to give a tip then you will not be served properly.
They will not bring a lunch menu unless you ask. I can tell that they do not like to serve lunch menu and also it says 15 pounds on the menu but it is just 10 pounds.
Male waiter is the best out of 3 or 4 of them but do not underestimate them that they can be really rude.

I went to the NIPA with my boyfriend on his birthday. It's a Thai restaurant and I heard that Thai food is spicy. When we eat out, we always prefer that kind of taste.
We ordered the Nipa Thai New Year's Eve meal. Both of the dishes were gorgeous!! They were mouth-watering and exquisite, but a little bit spicy.
I liked the interior which looked like a bungalow. The restaurant was hot because there were many people. Even though it was packed, we enjoyed our time. because the atmosphere was nice and chilled out. The staff were helpful and polite and can recommend dishes if you haven't had Thai food before.
The prices were reasonable, so I'd recommend going there for a special occasion.

We ate at the Nipa Thai on New Years Eve 2009/10 and I must say I was impressed with both the food, the service and the atmosphere. Their "New Year's Eve Meny" was a mix of very tasty and and some spicy food. And their recommended wines seemed very good for the meny. The decorations in the restaurant and the "New Year Parcel" to every person eating there made it a special and very enjoyable experience. The personnel at the restaurant was very service-minded and really showed that they wanted the customers to be satisfied. An allround perfect New Year's Eve Dinner for us.

For me, all dishes in Nipa are authentic Thai. Also decoration are very much like some Palace in Thailand. Keep your good work and keep do traditional for Thai food lover.

Extremely disappointed with the slow service at this restaurant.
Starters arrived before the drinks and the bill took 45 minutes.
