In short - by far one of the most sophisticated (though pricy) Sushi Restaurants in the city, it does not have the charme of Sakura or the bling of Zuma, but the quality of the sushi is excellent and the staff is treat - in service.

Just been for a business lunch at Miyabi. It's a small restaurant (probably about 10 tables) but was quite buzzy at 1pm. By 2pm, though, it was almost empty and thus conversation was much quieter.
The service was very attentive and the food was very nice. I probably made a mistake in ordering separate pieces off the a la carte menu. Better all round to go for the bento box - cheaper, more variety and more of it. A la carte I found a bit pricey.
Would go back though - it has a friendlier atmosphere than is typical in the City, almost like a family restaurant.

My previous raw fish eating activities had extended only as far as the M&S lunch range and Yo! Sushi. So being taken out for “proper” sushi was something I was very much looking forward to. Miyabi is located almost on top of Liverpool Street station and its atmosphere is typical of City eateries. The dining room is functional and could be considered to lack in terms of innovative design. However, pioneering dining room design is not what Miyabi is about. What the place does seem to be about however, is good food. The wasabi sauce was devilishly eye-watering - meanwhile the sashimi contrasted this with its delicately soft, undulating slices of fish - whilst the rice of the sushi complemented the delightful texture of the fish superbly. My meal was perfectly set off with a delicious glass of plum wine. I very much look forward to extending my sushi eating repertoire there again!

As a novice to Japanese food I was rather cautious when told this was to be the venue for a lunch meeting. Hadn't really a great desire to eat Sushi & other raw things but didn't really have a choice but to attend. Choose the set Tempura prawns menu and after watching my colleagues I found my way around the food box without making myself look stupid. It was absolutely delicious. The staff were really attentive. Only criticism is that the place is rather compact although the acoustics are not too bad. Will most definately return and possibly be a little more adventurous.Wonderful food!

Being a real fan of the restaurant, I booked my Birthday here. The service was fantastic, it was a really cosy atmosphere and the food was so so good. This time we were a bit greedy, ordering a bento box each, with a few extras on the side, as well as lots of wine followed by icecream! The sashimi melted in the mouth and it was all amazingly fresh. Being obsessed with Japanese food myself, I have tried many Japanese restaurants. I can assure you, especially if you live in east london that if you get a craving for sushi this is the best place. I really dont see that its any more expensive than other restaurants...the main expense as is everywhere is alcohol. It is totally possible to have a delicious set meal and a glass of wine for under £20.

One of our absolute favourites. It's not cheap, but it's good quality - excellent sushi - and really friendly staff. We go there far too often!!

As I am not even remotely of the "suited" variety, I approached this place with caution. This place does really good quality sushi, the staff are friendly and non judgemental. Two can eat with a glass of wine and shared dessert for £25. Sadly the local bwankers take over during the week, so book ahead if you want a table.
On a Saturday, this place can be small and cosy with a really great atmosphere, but on a thursday night your conversation may be over shadowed by your neighbours discussion of todays"board meeting".

My boyfriend took me here for my 21st birthday dinner on a Wednesday night, and it was one of the nicest meals out I've ever had the pleasure to enjoy! We're both beginners to real sushi, but as far as I could tell the fish was fresh, and it all tasted delicious.
After an initial mix-up over our booking, we were seated quickly, but asked to be moved to a table by the window, rather than sit between two other full tables, which they did happily. We ordered plum wine to drink, and then the waiter took a little too long to come back and take our food order. Once he did, he was extremely helpful explaining to us what each dish was, and what the japanese names referred to, and if we were ordering the right amount of food. To start we both had sushi - I had spicy tuna california rolls, salmon and hamachi sushi. My bf had some kind of white minched fish that had been battered, and put into sushi rolls, and tuna and salmon sushi also. We were also given teeny chicken salad tasters to start us off free of charge. The sushi was fantastic and absolutely delicious.
For our main course we ordered a beef teriyaki bento box which was absolutely huge, and a prawn and vegetable tempura. The only quibble with this is that a lot of the sashimi that came with the bento box was unidentifiable to us - we had no idea what it was! Again, both courses were absolutely delicious.
The restaurant itself is very small, which I wasn't expecting but it wasn't loud or particularly claustrophobic. The service was excellent, and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful throughout. The prices were reasonable, but on reflection we ordered too much as the sushi starter was suprisingly filling, and on returning - which I intend to do soon - we would be able to reduce our bill by ordering more sensibly!
There didn't seem to be a dessert menu, but we were too full to enquire so I'm not sure if they cover this aspect also. Overall, I was absolutely thrilled with the meal we had at Miyabi and would thoroughly recommend it.
