Visited Ubon on a Saturday night. Restaurant is far too bright and felt like you were eating in a canteen environment. Staff were very arrogant and unhelpful and a couple of things from our order didn't surface until we reminded them. Had to keep asking for wine glass to be filled up - not sure if we actually ended up with somebody else's bottle as they had about half a dozen in one cooler which seemed to cause great confusion. Food was good but not worth the money. No atmosphere.
Have been to other Sushi restaurants in London for less money and had a much better time.

I'm a regular visitor to UBON and i can safely say.... it's fantastic! I prefer it to NOBU as it's not as busy and it has this amazing view overlooking the Thames. When I first visited I wasn't much of a fish eater and had never tried sushi... a bit of a virgin to the entire menu. The freshness of the fish and the delightful sauces and presentation makes it a definate winner. On the bad side - it's terribly expensive, the tables a little too close togerther and the service can sometime be a bit slow but..... despite that it's certainly worth a try!

Visited Ubon, with a couple of colleagues, and have to say I was glad not to be picking up the bill....the food was good, not spectacular, but well presented and - we had sea food - clearly fresh and well sourced. However, the service was sourtsasid (disastrous backwards...geddit ??). Each of our dishes arrived at 15 minute intervals, so you had the choice of eating independently or watching you food go cold - one of my companions had finished his dinner half an hour before my main arrived.
Technically the food was good - the tampura batter as good as anything I have eaten this side of Mount Fuji, but would I go again if I was paying ?
No. It was overpriced dining for the d-list...the staff were cute though.

I went there because some friends were telling me it's good and has a great view. I don't work at Canary Wharf, so the place does exude a fascination for me.
The view is spectacular, that's true. Among the best I've ever enjoyed while eating. The place is not romantic in itself: it's an upscale restaurant, but not the ideal candle-lit place. The view makes up for that.
Service is OK, and the food is absolutely delicious. The small size of portions, combined with high prices, make it a very, very expensive place. But I still think it was worth the journey.

this is a place I often go to, it is expensive but I think worth the money.
There is a fantastic view visible as you enter the restaurant over looking the thames, the decor is simple very "zen" but still comfortable to be in.
The food is top quality, black cod top of the list for my taste, but so too are sushi and sashimi for freshness and quality.
In its class top marks.
Only neg for me is service may be a bit slow at times, but then again why spend all that money in a rush !

Beautiful food, delicate, tasty, well presented and in good portions unlike some other similar establishments. Not cheap but don't go if you are expecting a cheap meal!!!! This is one of the best restaurants I have been to in London and NOT the most expensive. The Bento boxes are great, sushi is also top quality and service was attentive. Very highly recommended.
