We went to the Imperial City on Friday 13 June for my daughters birthday, the food was excellent, but unfortunately, our first waitress thought she was in a circus, judging by he way she threw the plates on the table and proceeded to walk round with a face like a smacked bottom. Luckily, we were then rescued by a lovely little waitress who could not do enough for us and even had a smile on her face too. All things taken into consideration we would be happy to try again at some point in the future, as the food was of a very good.

The return of Imperial City! It was fantastic when I last reviewed the restaurant but the food quality deterioriated over the past 2 or so years. Rumours were that the old head chef who left has returned, as an old regular, I had to give it a try again. One word sums it up: Brilliant!

The food is pricey as usual but those who eat at this restaurant don't consider it to be an issue. It's the food and atmosphere that counts and it comes to no surprise that this restaurant is packed on a daily basis (closed weekends). It's a shame that the service hasn't improved much.

Would never have thought of ordering Osso Bucco in a Chinese restaurant but it was actually pretty tasty and fell off the bone.

The mains were all of a good standard, but the starters were a bit mean portion-wise.

A nice space and the service was good without being in your face. I'd definitely recommend it for lunch in The City - a good compromise between the high end and the very casual, provided you don't go nuts.

Pretty busy for a Monday night and I really enjoyed the food. Pancakes were of a good standard (not enough sauce however - a bit mean).

The beer was cold and service apperaed when you needed it and didn't bother you when you didn't.

Mains were of a high standard - well cooked, arrived hot and nothing was left.

I enjoyed this and there isn't really anything I didn't like about the place - I would recommend this place.

Toodle pip.

We had a work lunch at Imperial City for 5 people, we made the mistake of odering the set menu/ It was over priced and food was disgustingly cooked.

Everything was fried and coated in oil. The food here is definitly below some take-away Chinese food standards.

We paid over £250, and we got exactly the same amount of food as the 2 people sitting next to us, who also ordered the set menu. The only difference was we had a larger bowl of noodles and rice. Such a ripe-off.

We had to wait for an hour between starters and main course, we asked for the main course a few times, the waitress ignored us and we only got our food after some guy came over to give us the bill and we told him we have not had our main course yet.

Such a shame! The location is perfect but food and serives are so terriable!

We have had an extremely lovely night here. The head of the operation must be given thumbs up.

If you want the best Chinese in the 'square mile' then this is it.

Good quality food and good service.

Atmosphere is nice but the only complaint is the very small portions.

Dont think its Chinese food so we dont need many dishes! You will be left ordering more.

Very good lunch option in the city. Good (but not great) food. Very good service and nice atmosphere. Average prices for a good lunch in the city. I recommend it.

I took a group of eight colleagues there for lunch - it was nothing but excellent. We were given a round table which was helpful given the number of us. The food was superb, service good, wine excellent. Everyone was happy and all agreed they would go back. OK so it was expensive but what do you expect when your in the heart of the city?!
