Excellent executive service, with excellent delicious food and great value for money. The design and the atmosphere of the restaraunt is top noch. A must Go!

I have always raved about this restaurant and have even given it a good review on this site however, that is about to change. We went on Tuesday lunch time as it was half term and we took our daughter as a treat. I feel that when they first opened they had something to prove and gave great service, now the service was extremely bad and the price has gone up.
We booked a table for 1pm but got there early at 12.15 which was not a problem for them. We were seated and drinks served (chinese tea) we then waited until 12.50 before we could catch someone's eye to take our order. It was not busy only about 5 tables were occupied. Considering we have been here a number of times and had eaten well the price seems to have jumped up. We had one small portion of Chicken noodles which cost £9.50 which I found quite steep considering the size of it.
We ordered dessert and by this time they were busy, but, after 15 minutes of waiting we were given the bill (without us asking) and no dessert but they had added it to the bill. We decided to leave and they took the dessert off the bill but she decided to walk off with our credit card so my husband followed her and quite rudely said to him that she was going to sort it out but my husband said that she should not have been walking off with his card.
No I shall not be going back to this restaurant as there are many others out there who do make an effort and serve good food. Shame really.

Best Dim Sum in London, there are actually two pretty much next door to each other, after many a taste test (hard work I know) we have decided that the Royal China Club (the one with the lobster tank) is slightly better quality, although you pay a slight premium for it. Excellent value for money and endless tea is offered.

Really nice dim sum and other dumplings for Sunday brunch...and great value! A big group of us stuffed ourselves and paid only £13 each. (We didn't drink though....)

I highly recommend the DIM SUM at Royal china to anyone!
It'll be be worth every penny you pay for!
Go early for a Sunday lunch, so you could start enjoying the steamy hot dimsums. and watch the queue grows!
Trust me it's good!

After coming back from a 4-month stay in Shanghai, I just couldn't enjoy chinese food here. But this one is clearly the best chinese food I ve had in London (and I ve looked quite a bit) and the value for money is unbeatable.
Only complaint regards service: not so much because of the occasional delays (other times the next round of drinks comes right away, other times it takes 20 minutes and 3 reminders) but mainly because of the rudeness (of specific employees) that other reviewers mentioned as well. I once had to ask a head-waiter to leave and send someone else to take my order, because otherwise I would lose my cool. And yes, I ve noticed the "15-minute wait although there are free tables" tactics...
But the food is so great, that I keep going back!

I ate there for lunch on a saturday with my husband on the recommendation of a chinese friend. I have lived in Beijing myself for more than three years and I am quite fussy about service. This restaurant was my best experience outside of China in terms of the food it serves. The service was impeccable (which is not a chinese feature I must say) and the food was just subtle and perfect. We werent' rushed even tough the restaurant was packed and I had this feeling that the waitresses were reading our mind as they were so attentive and proactive without being intrusive. It was a nice mixed crowd made up of family, trendy people as well as a lot of chinese which is so important. And a lot of americans too actually, it must be on a guide somewhere...I would recommend this restaurant without the shadow of a doubt for the place in itself, the food of course as well as the service. I will try soon the Canary Wharf Branch on a week day for Kao Ya and hope that it will measure up to the standards of Baker Street.

After reading some of the reviews I am quite shocked really. The first time my husband and I went it was for dinner which was really good. Our waitress was extremely helpful as we didn't want to eat the normal chinese but wanted to have something different and she recommended lots of different things which were lovely. The next four times we went for lunch especially for the Dim sim and took 4 other people with us including my 4 year old daughter. Again our waitress from last time was there and remembered us and gave us some good advise with the food. We all had a lovely meal which came to about £60 for the 6 of us with drinks (soft drinks) and we did order alot. We have always had a good service and good food and if we are in london always try and visit. The first time we just turned up for dinner and was sitted straight away and the other times we booked first. It is one of my favoriate places and I find the prices good. Will check out the 13% though (husband usually pays).
