I have been at this restaurant many times for lunch, but never in the evening, but yesterday I had the pleasure of dining at this restaurant. I was truely amazed! It´s like the restaurant changes in the evening, at lunch time it´s traditionel Danish food ( with lots of beer and aquavit ) which is really great, especially their sunday buffet, this is the place to go to have a true danish experience. But back to the evening, the athmosphere is really romantic and cozy, staff was very kind and you could feel how they loved to be there for, and with their guests. The Food was really good, simple and tasty, and defiantly not too overpriced! I´m a big fan of wine and dining, and what allways hit me is the winelist, they are allways too prices, but not this one, they have a great selection of wines from the old world, France, Spain and Italy ( I love the old world so maybe it´s not fair ) But anyway. their wine list is really good, not very big, but simple and easy with some really great wines, at a great price, ecpecially when you are considering the restaurant is located in the heart of South kensington.

After the dinner I will recommend that you have a drink at their local Eclipse further down the street! Same kind of friendly and cozy staff, but with another nationality.

So for a perfect evenning, nothing formal, I will allways go to Denmark!

I visited this restaurant for Saturday lunch. I was looking forward to a Danish experience. However, I really have to ask what exactly is Danish about this restaurant. Apart from the odd couple of Danish accents and a paper flag on one of the tables, nothing!!! The mains were all familiar with ingrediants from Scotland, Ireland and Wales. The deserts were poisitvely Italian. Also, the food was exceptionally overpriced for what it was, a very average Beef Strognoff was £22. Boring!!!

Any positives? The decor is nice!

The restaurant is very classy and is perfect for a romantic evening. We sat on very comfortable sofas in a separate room; it felt like we were dining in someone's house. The room was very cosy and very elegant. The service was excellent, very quick and very discreet.

The menu is slightly disappointing as it does not offer much choice and is very pricey. The food was good, however it's that type of cuisine you don't want to be eating more than once every six month, as it is very rich and much elaborated.

Altogether it was a nice experience but it is not one of those places where I am rushing to go back.

Fresh and friendly (in a way that only Scandinavians and Kiwis can be) place with superb food. Fabulous and understated, yet buzzing atmosphere. Good winelist as well.

Dined here last week. Nice restaurant fresh and clean look. Service was fine, not special in any way. Hubby and I both had the duck starter - went down rather well. I had the seabass main, it was fantastic! Hubby's beef stroganoff was fine bu not special he said. I had creme brulee for dessert, DIVINE! Only complaint was the loud American woman seated next to me who seemed high on something and wouldnt stop talking - loudly. Then peering over my shoulder at my lovely seabass. Would dine again, although dont see myself rushing back.

Went for dinner with 3 people on a Tuesday in September. The menu is heavily fish, with little choice in main courses below £20;starters hover around the £9-12 mark. This is not an inexpensive restaurant. The decor is fresh and airy. The food is Frenchified Scandinavian.A smoked salmon starter was icy cold(pre-set and kept in fridge?).And main courses were competent, but nothing special either in concept or execution. An average place charging well above average prices.

Hi everyone,

Sydney here. Well it's been a while since I last visited Lundum's and things have changed quite a lot. The restaurant is about 3 times the size it once was and the decor has been updated to reflect moden trends.

The food was, thankfully, no different. Quality can be tasted in every bite and the unique Danish flavours make Lundum's a must visit for all British, nay European, foodies.

The fish was divine and the smoked duck every but as delicious as I remember. Wine was rejected in favour of the often surprising but always rewarding complexity of the various aquavits on offer.

The clientele was, unfortunately, a little more standoffish and arrogant than my memory had remembered but that is the price that must be paid for eating at the snobbish end of Gloucester Road, at the apex of South Kensington. Uptight lionesses hawked and squawked too loudly with conversation of little consequence. Why or why must this so often be the case?

To fully enjoy the Danish food experience to its maximum book early, visit on a Sunday and don't, whatever you do, forget the obligatory ear plugs. Unless of course you enjoy listening to Paloma and Timothy braying about Clifford's school.

I truly enjoyed my three course dinner at Lundums last Saturday: fresh fish, very good Alsace wine, and nice simple raspberries for dessert. The bar where you can smoke is pleasant as well.

The decor feels like you are in someone's home, cosy and beautifully set. Service was friendly, although a bit quick.

I was surprised the restaurant was not fuller!

Had the priveledge to return to this restaurant for dinner recently.Excellent service food and wine. The restaurant also turned a potential disaster into a triumph having given my briefcase by mistake to another diner who disappeared into deepest Surrey!! I had his by the way! The staff were magnificent tracking down my bag , despatching a taxi to fetch it , supplying us with free Champagne ,chatting with us as the restaurant closed up and finally paying for a taxi home!

All in all 100% customer service and the team at Lundums deserve to be congratulated.

I will certainly be returning although without my briefcase perhaps!
