Very nice food, steak cooked perfectly with not much waiting time. The atmosphere is good.

The prices can be quite expensive (but not bad as far as London prices go).

Would certainly return for the excellent food when im in London again.

Good location, huge place and comfortable where you can chill out for a couple of hours, great atmosphere and the staff are really friendly and heplful without being over the top or rushing you out, so in that respect all good, i have to say though i thought the food was a let down and expensive. Had fish sharing combo to start which was nice especially the fish cakes. I had ribs and piri piri chicken combo for main, which was dry and bland, was very disapointed. But my girlfriend had a burger which we ended up sharing and was really good, so i would say stick to a burger or steak they seem to be good at those.

Drinks, wine, cocktails etc quite pricey and the pitcher of draught beer was flat!!

Probably wouldnt go back unless you go on a monday night were certain dishes are 50% off.

I loved it !! So many restaurants play the whole pretentious game...Maxwells, gives you what you want, good quality food, fun & friendly service... The staff are having a good time, really enjoying their jobs... There's alot to be said about going back to basics of having a good meal in a great fun place, where staff are attentive and really want you to enjoy yourselves.. Well Done Maxwells.. I'll be back and will spread the good word!!!!

We went to Maxwell's on a Tuesday night before the theatre and it was fine. Nothing special, but for a pre-theatre deal (it was one of those £20 for a show and a meal things) it was OK. Service was prompt and friendly. Atmosphere was good. Food was alright. Starter of potato skins was good (and a large portion), chicken wings were OK. Main courses - burger was good, steak wasn't great quality, but you get what you pay for! It did the job.

By the way, if you are on the same deal as us (meal at 6.30, show at 8), go along a bit before 6.30. We arrived at 6.30, were served quickly and were out at 7.35. But if service was slow you might find yourself rushing to the theatre.

Friends were going to a show so met them there for early 5.30 dinner beforehand. Wasn't expecting much but got even less. Shared nachos for starter, which were not only awful (non-melted cheese) but expensive, at 6.50pm our maincourses of two burgers and two chicken faijitas still hadn't arrived. After informing the waitress that we needed to leave in ten minutes the food finally turned up. The burger was actually quite good but the chicken for the fajitas just about looked cooked and the portion was tiny. Ended up costing £100 for 4 people, 2 courses and some cocktails and took over 1 and a half hours. Wish I had gone to the Masala zone round the corner.

Maxwell's 2-course theatre dinner deal is good value, but overall it was a disappointing experience. The (medium) steak was unchewably tough, with another try almost as bad. Don't expect anything better than yet another glorified burger-joint: it is NOT the genuine American-quality establishment its publicity would have you believe. We would have been better off at Hard Rock Cafe - even with its reputation for inconsistent food.

Well done Maxwells............

Myself and my family dined at Maxwells on Saturday night. The atmosphere was very lively and there was a great buzz to the place.

I would strongly reccommend the Steak. It was gorgeous. The desserts are also to die for.....not so great for the old waistline though. A great Birthday treat all-round.

Went to Maxwell' on a Sunday night with 3 friends as It was 'happy our all day' and we had a voucher for 2 courses @ £12.95. We we shown to our seats and then waited 45mins before our drinks order was taken! We then waited a further 30mins for the food to arrive. We ordered from a very limited menu and when the food arrived it was extremely disappointing. All dishes were poorly presented, overcooked and greasy. There was no garnish served with the either course and vegetables have to ordered seperately - we were told this once our food had arrived. I complained to the manager, who admitted that she saw us waiting for our food and didn't do anything about it. She apologised for the poor service and offered us a complimentary drink - which we had to wait 15 minutes for! In conclusion - only go to Maxwell's if you had the time and the money to waste.

Went with my partner on a weekend away in London a few months ago. Service was terrible, impossible to attract the waitress' attention. We were left alone for an hour with no drinks, no steak knives etc. Food was edible, but nothing more. Only saw anyone for the bill, which we paid, informed the waitress how disappointed with the service we were. We were offered free desserts but we'd had enough by then and left sharpish! One to avoid.

I had lunch at Maxwells yesterday and have to say it was a big disappointment. The previous night I checked their website which advertised a lunchtime special - two courses for £9.95 which seemed quite reasonable so we decided to give it ago. However when we arrived the next day and asked for the lunch menu we were told that it was not available and that their website was probably out of date!!

We decided to eat there anyway as the children were really hungry. I was not impressed at all. The childrens menu was very unimaginative, smaller portions of the adult menu would be preferable. My daughter had fish fingers with chips and baked beans. The beans came in a white plastic pot and were lukewarm. My partner had lamb chops which were overcooked and dry and the potatoes that came with it were greasy. There were no vegetables with the dish, you have to order those seperately which I found surprising considering the cost of the meal itself. Our waitress was quite pleasant however and quite attentive. In spite of this I will not be eating at Maxwells again. Very disappointing.
