I have always like locanda locatelli, but on recent visit I feel the restaurant has slipped. I came witth my family. This isnt a family friendly restuatant. Very limited food choice for your children.

Overall the food is good my main gripe is the very "italian" service, it is way too chaotic for me and puts you off enjoying you meal.

It was my first experience of this Italian restaurant (a birthday treat for my 70th) My mouth, taste buds & eyes were truly enchanted. A beautiful meal, wonderful service & a truly lovely ambience.

Great atmosphere, busy but intimate, filled with very soft light. Service was uniformed and professional. There was a disappointed look in the sommelier's face when I ordered one of the cheapest bottles, and to his credit I should have bought something nicer. That was my only regret for the night. I'm still thinking about the special white truffle pasta. The veal loin was moist and flavorful, with a lovely jus. I was too full to fit much in but sorbet at the end, but I did enjoy something from the extensive grappa list. Great menu and first rate cooking. Expensive but I'd go back.

Four of us ate at Locanda Locatelli last night and even arriving at 7:30 the restaurant was absolutely buzzing. Roberto, who is still the best maitre'd in London, was on hand and all the staff were friendly and attentive. The food was sublime. I agree with another reviewer, the salt-cod starter is delicious, full of flavour with the sweetest little tomatoes to balance the flavour. My fillet of sea bass with artichoke puree was perfectly cooked with subtle flavours and I was sorry when it ended. For dessert, I opted for the Cannoli with strawberries and pistachio ice cream...scrumptious. I don't think you can beat LL for food, service and a buzzy atmosphere and it only added to the evening to spot popstar Will.I.am, Gwyneth Paltrow, Gwen Stefani and Kate Winslet.

Had a fabulous evening with a friend. The champagne cocktails to start with were just super and hit the spot. In terms of food - dont miss the salted cod starter with fresh tomatoes and the chestnut Tagliatelle with porcini and wild mushrooms pasta. Strong flavours - but delicious! The portions are quite generous - I was not able to finish my pasta.

The service as well was excellent. The good thing was that the restaurant was not very noisy and you could actually hold a decent conversation at normal decibel levels.

Would definitely return!

Although having dined at Locatelli on many occasions I arrived at lunch time one Wednesday and because I was by myself I was refused a table. The restaurant was less than half full. What awful customer service. The Boss needs to be made aware.

Locanda Locatelli - Still there after my seven year absence from London (moved to New York in 2004) and, boy, am I glad to be back!

Food is as glorious as I remember.

Same (lovely) maitre'd (they really must treat this guy well, or hes family, but who cares? he's top of the range professional)

Pasta with broad beans and rocket today for lunch - cannot express how totally delicious this was. Broad bean pasta. Who knew?!

Best Italian I have ever had. Seriously. GO!

Visited locanda locatelli on monday night with great anticipation but was extremely disappointed! starters of scallops with celeriac puree was bland and served with an overpoweringly sweet saffron vinaigrette! Carpaccio of beef had absolutely zero presentation, bed of rocket with a dehydrated pancake looking piece of beef and a few parmasen shavings! Linguine with lobster and gnocchi with venison for mains, again zero presentation and bland flavours! On the plus side, service was good! Red wine and grappa chosen by the sommelier very pleasant! Bread basket and petit fours was probably the highlight of the evening! All in all a disappointing night!

Locanda secured its place as London's top Italian once again last night. Excellent meal, great service and excellent wines recommended by the sommelier. Particular highlights included the lobster linguine and the pheasant ravioli, gloriously meaty and succulent.

I cannot fault this place, it made for an excellent way to start the year.

Last night I had probably the freshest, satisfying and most deliicious meal of my life at Locanda Locatelli.

I am a massively impressed with Mr Locatelli's skill at putting together the simplest

ingredients and making them taste divine.

Apparently Beyonce was there, but to be honest, even she could not hold my attention away from my meal! I can only imagine that the people who write bad things about this place are its competitors!

Bravo Giorgio and team.

An American In London

An American In London

Friday, March 18, 2011 - The braised lamb neck with buttery polenta ticked all the boxes for a good braise: fork tender, lots of rich fatty bits and a strong sauce for you to mop up. A little more polenta to accompany the enormous portion of meat would've been ideal. Contorni were a very mixed bag...Worst menu moment was the tiramisu (6.50). A total crime. Stale ladyfingers doused in a runny mascarpone and drowned in amoretto. Despite sharing one portion among four people, we didn't come close to finishing it.

Saturday, August 16, 2008 - Arriving at LL, I was delighted to be greeted by Daniele, the gentleman who took care of me before. He had been an invaluable source of suggestion when ordering and seemed to possess a good understanding of my tastes and preferences already. He promptly seated us at a large table under those large, latticed street windows in a corner booth that would have comfortably held a couple more. Shortly, a plate of bresola e rucola was delivered to our table together with that basket of bread.
