Pizza Express Jazz Club

An unpleasant evening. First time I'd been to one of the jazz concerts downstairs. Sour-faced staff talked throughout the gig. A bar that looked like it had been made in a junior school woodwork class. Feeble range of drinks. The restaurant stank of sweat but the smell was actually the pizza. A horrible place I would never go back to.

Been there last week.

Loved the music, ok food, staff were really good and really friendly. Had a fantastic time.

A friend and I went to the upstairs part of the restaurant today for lunch.

The food was reasonable , I had the Tuna Nicoise salad, the portion was decent and the price reasonable.

What lets this place down is the sevice, we stood at the door waiting to be seated for atleast 5 minutes, the chefs kept looking at us but didnt try to catch the attention of the waitress that had her back to us.

We were then sat at the far corner of the back part of the restaurant that had a ton of screeming kids near pur table, its not the kids fault obviously but a quick lunch beetween working hours needs to have a slight sense of calm before re entering the storm.

We asked if we could move and were told no and that was it.

My friend literally put her arm in the air as if she was flagging a cab, no one was interested so we got up and stood by the till.

I wont be back.

Great Pizza, Great Atmosphere, Great Jazz.... If the usual pizza express is too 'express' for you, then you can take your time and savour your pizza in this relaxed underground jazz club. The jazz on Sunday was very relaxing and smooth. The place was packed and the service was great. Brilliant! Love it!
