The sushi at Sushi Say is divine - the best I have had at this level of restaurant in London. It was so good that I had to order what I had eaten again! Service was impeccable and very efficient.

The tempura, on the other hand, was nowhere near the best I have had - I recommend sticking to the sushi which is obviously their specialty!

The best ever Japanese restaurant. Food is great, portion are of the right size, it is not expensive at all considering the quality of the food. A big portion of fish (bawl with mixed raw fish) plus the superb Tempura Udon Soup it goes for around £20.

Service and Atmosphere is great too with the couple running the restaurant being a good mix, she as manager running the floor operation and while he is doing is magic to the fish. Also there is a typical Japanese table (you need to reserve it for at least 4 people) plus there are painting from a Japanese artist that can be bought and the restaurant management change them on a quarterly basis

I can't pretend to be an expert in the cuisine of Japan (this is one of only three Japanese restaurants that I've been to). Saying that - this is a lovely place to eat. The waitresses in traditional dress and the sushi chef with his bandana enhance the atmosphere of the place.

The portions are small (I'm a big man, I ate again when I got home) but everything is so beautifully presented and delicious. It's not cheap - definitely not cheap for NW2.

Very very decent. I'm going to score a little lower on Value for Money than the other metrics because for this part of London £30+ per head is pricey but it's a very nice evening out.

Cheese and Biscuits

Cheese and Biscuits - 4/10

Tuesday, May 26, 2009 - It looks like the perfect setting for a very authentic sushi experience, which is a shame because after ten minutes I was just on the verge of walking out… From that point on, if the food had been a 3 Michelin-star tour-de-force of Japanese regional cookery it still would have tasted of defeat. To try and be objective for a second, it probably wasn't too bad. The soft-shelled crab tempura were moist and cooked with skill, the squid well seasoned and the Uni nigiri were, if not very fresh, then at least unusual enough to be noteworthy.

Monday, May 11, 2009 - The food was near faultless, and the freshness of the seafood is undeniable, but we sampled too little of the menu to be able to make a true judgement of the chef’s abilities. Although the restaurant was full by the time we left, service was still quick and with a smile. Lack of Japanese customers at the time made it feel a bit non-traditional at the time, but I hear online that lots of Japanese are regulars at Sushi-Say. Value is tricky to judge, but quality Japanese food comes at a premium and I felt it was money well spent in this case.
