Unfortunately, Sushi-Say failed to live up to expectations. Horrifically over-priced and poorly presented dishes. Chicken undercooked and noodles swamped in a bland clear/ soy miso.As for the service, staff were polite but did get my order slightly wrong. Doubtful I will visit again. There are much better Japanese restaurants around....MUCH!

I love this place! I'm from Vancouver, Canada where there is an abundance of fresh and tasty sushi restaurants so I'm extremely happy to have found a great little place in North London.

The food is a bit on the expensive side but you really do get what you pay for (great sushi!).

The restaurant could use a bit of music in the background to up the atmosphere a bit but other than that I have no complaints.

The lady who runs the restuarant is sweet as anything and the chef is really interesting to watch. You always feel welcome at Sushi Say and all their staff make a point of thanking you on your way out the door.

I highly recommend this place and would suggest making a booking especially on Friday/Saturday nights.

Good authentic food; no doubt for that. But the prices seem to be gone up by 30% or more since the last time I was there. It used to be a 'good food for reasonable price' restaurant but it caught up with other high priced restaurants and I was disappointed(Drinks are still reasonably priced). When you have a seat at the sushi counter; be aware that it could be quite noisy with all talk between waitresses, especially if you understand the language it could put you off the meal. Although the sushi chef is very professional and fun to watch so where to seat is a hard choice. I still recommend this restaurant for anyone wants to try good authentic Japanese food; it's guaranteed. But its atmosphere and service will be depend on your luck for the night? Oh, and one more thing to be sure; expect to pay a lot.

Good authentic food, no doubt for that. But the price of dishes seems to gone up by 30% or more since last time I was there(still reasonable price for drinks though). It used to be 'good food for reasonable price' restaurant but now they have caught up with other high-priced restaurant. The service was not up to very high standard but this could be just a bad timing I went. If you understand the language; seat far from the sushi counter as you will be distracted by constant yapping of a head waitress to the other workers; although the sushi chef is very professional and fun to watch him work so where to seat is a hard choice.

I still recommend this restaurant for good Japanese food, but for myself; I think I had my last meal there.

This is the most authentic Japanese food in London. The grilled eggplant, and agedashi tofu are particularly good. The fish is really something special; It's fresh and succulent, not like the tasteless cardboard gel you get from most Japanese restaurants in this country.

The restaurant is owned by a really nice lady, Shimizu Yuko san, who takes time to talk to her customers and even remembers their names. She really is friendly and the service is excellent.

It's not the cheapest restaurant in town, but I think the price is fair considering the quality of the food and service. A very filling dinner for two, with wine and desert was 70 quid. I was also impressed that they impose any service charge, so much so, that I gave them an extra 20%. (I hate service charge. It just breeds cr*p service).

Definitely the best Japanese food in town.

I lived in Japan for 5 years, and have been connected to it, and its food, for 15. I can honestly say this is the best sushi i have tried in London and if the (only slightly) higher but justified prices put you off, then I recommend you take advantage of their great weekend lunch deals... and if you like sushi and sashimi, the chirashi rice (chopped raw fish on top of rice bowl) is absolutely heavenly and is accompanied by soup, and a side dish all for around £10. Fantastic!

Sushi-Say is an unexpectedly excellent Japanese restaurant in an unusual part of town. I've lived in Willesden Green for 10 years and have visited regularly - it is the best Japanese restaurant in London and I've eaten at pretty much all of them.

Ask the sushi chef what he recommends as you enter - my husband ate several pieces of the finest yellowtail tuna he has ever put in his mouth. Being less adventurous I had a couple of salmon nigiri and the deep fried scallops - fresh, juicy and tender. The tendon, a mixture of prawn and vegetable tempura served with rice and a sticky spicy sauce, is my favourite hot dish but everything we've tried has been excellent. Dinner for two, including a bottle of wine but no dessert, comes to around £70 which we think is excellent value. Long live this marvellous little place.

This is a fabulous, authentic japanese restaurant. The sushi here is beyond comparison and the talent of the sushi chef and his wife (the owners) are clearly very good at what they do. Ok, it is expensive, but you're paying for years and years of sushi training expertise, and also for fresh fish cuts, which in london can't help but be expensive. If it was cheap i'd be very suspicious. They do FABULOUS value lunch on weekends only, from 1 till 3, where you can choose from a selection of beautifully composed lnch menus, with both a sushi and a sashimi option for £15. Plus a couple of beers or tea and we're talking £20 ish per head, but could be less if you're careful. Highly recommended and well worth the schlep to the suburbs. Go on a weekend lunchtime if you're worried about the cost of a la carte in the evening, which undeniably adds up.

Sushi Say is a real sushi restaurant with a real sushi chef who trained and has worked in Japan, no gimicks, that's what you pay for. The food is amazing and prepared with care and dedication.

I love this restaurant and because of the prices I only go there as a treat, but am happy to pay the price everytime.

The area it's in is a bit run down, but I guess it stops it becoming commercial and losing the high quality it has always delivered whenever I've been there.

We go there very often as we know the boss, he use to work in wakaba.

Although the price is a bit high (around £270 for 5 people inc. Wine) The quality of the food is amazing...
