I went to Incognico last night with three friends. We had chosen the restaurant based on a combination of its good reviews and the fact that Tastecard holders can get 50% off the total food bill.
We were given a prime window table which was a relief - many restaurants seem to shove you to the back if you're using a discount card or voucher - and the manager was very attentive, with extensive knowledge of the menu and a good sense of humour.
Two of the four of us had starters (smoked fish ravioli and something with foie gras in it), both of which were divine, then for mains we had the duck, tuna and two servings of rabbit, with broccoli and chips on the side to share. We were all hugely impressed (and one of the party is a former food critic): the flavours, moderate-but-not-stingey portions, and vegetable side dishes were all perfect.
The only areas in which the restaurant fell down were the cocktails - we had lychee martinis and they tasted very perfumey - and the desserts (blueberry cheesecake, creme caramel, chocolate mousse and lemon tart), which were fine, but nowhere near as well-executed or imaginative as the savoury offerings.
It's a pricey place, but if you have a Tastecard (or are loaded) it's worth checking out. Just be careful when ordering wine - most of it is extortionate!

Food expensive and not much of it. The service was ok and the staff friendly. However would not recommend.

Great experience. Food was lovely, good service, friendly manager and lovely interior. Probably would have been a bit expensive if we didn't have 50% off on an offer.

Stumbled on this place by accident, and what a great find it is. I actually asked someone who was leaving as we stood outside if he would recommend it and he was full of enthusiatic praise. The food was excellent, with a great choice and a real value for money deal. The service was friendly and unobtrusive. We'll certainly go back. First class.

I went for an annual Christmas meal with close friends, a special occasion which some of them travelled far for.
Our whole experience at Incognico was extremely disappointing. Our meal started with the waitress spilling wine on my plate, which was fine accidents happen. I then asked for tap water to go with our meal. I had to ask for this three times in total and it didn't actually arrive until the main course.
My main course was tepid in temperature, I sent this back to a waitress who walked off shaking her head. The main courses were described as being accompanied with a garnish of vegetables which was minimal to say the least. We therefore asked for some vegetables. They came once everyone had finished their main course.
We booked a restaurant deal which I didn't term as particularly cheap but we were made to feel like second class diners in comparison to the rest. The staff were rude and the whole episode really did spoil our Christmas event.
One thing to say that food we did have apart from my main course tasted great so if they brushed up on their service and timings then they could improve the experience. I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Booked for four of us 6pm pre-theatre. We told them we had tickets for a show at 7.30, they said no problem, plenty of time. We ordered 3 courses at their suggestion for set price of £27.
Starters took quite a while, we rushed them so mains could be served. It then took another half hour to get the mains, by which time it was 7.10, only 20 mins before our show was to start. We had no time for the desserts, but they still charged us full price!!
We went to complain to someone (who we later discovered was the owner/manager). We were quite polite, explained that the service took too long, we're late for the theatre, and didn't have time for desert. At no point were our voices raised. Unbelievably he then threatened to have us evicted!!
Never in my life have I been spoken to like that, or had such poor, all round service.
Oh, and by the way, the food was highly average, certainly not worth the price.
Avoid this place, especially pre-theatre!
(We still tipped the waitress who was pleasant, as it wasn't her fault she had a poor kitchen and rude manager.)

A group of us dined here combining it with a visit to the theatre. As it the theatre tickets had been booked well in advance one of the group managed to book their meal deal – three courses (off the “a la carte”) and a glass of champagne for £27-50. We were quickly and efficiently seated with our champagne and menu. The deal is good as the individual prices are quite high! In addition to our meals we ordered some extra vegetables (noticing other people’s portions were quite small), water and wine. What a couple of us noticed was that despite being crowded it did not feel cramped and that the noise level was quite subdued –a combination of people not taking at high decibels and fittings and furnishings that absorb the sound somewhat.
The service was good with neither long waits nor a feeling of being rushed. The only slight irritation was that the wine was topped up after you had taken a few sips. The food was excellent in both presentation and flavour. Only one person had a slight quibble in that they felt the pork was a bit fatty. Others had duck, sea bass and lamb. The desserts were equally good.
To sum up excellent food and service. However despite the meal deal I feel I have to mark it down on value. Without the meal deal, in fact, I would class it a prohibitively expensive. The fact that the extra portions of vegetables were £4-50 each gives you some idea. It is a lot of money for relatively small portions – I would have classed the potato as expensive at £2-50. The wine was also rather more expensive that bit should have been. I would eat there again with the meal deal – without it only if someone else was paying!

Went there for pre-theatre dinner. The food was ok, but nothing special. I am not sure if I like the setting and the location since it appears to be too busy and hasty.

I was here for dinner in Dec. 08 but didn't get round to writing this until now. Service was fine but with one really annoying exception: aggressive pouring of wine, the waiters taking turns to do it, as if to empty the bottle as soon as possible, and very slow response to me asking not to pour any more. If anyone at the restaurant is reading this, please, please take note. It's nasty.
Food was ok, unmemorable but really overpriced - £150 for two people, one bottle of wine, two aperos, shared dessert. Looking at other reviews here I would only go again on a set menu - otherwise it's seriously overpriced (typical London problem) for what you get.
