OMG! You people... Those of you who refuse to comment on the quality and freshness of the food... Azou is a total Mecca in West London Moroccan cuisine!
Friendly staff overall... Chris Benarab (the owner) is sooooo nice! Even more so if you are a local and speak fluent French! ;-) Just kidding but really this is such a great restaurant!
Brik... crispy, delicious...
Tajine el Ain... succulent and tasty...
Couscous Royal... one word "wow!"
Variety... hard to beat at these prices!
Honestly, I dare you... find a tajine or couscous in West London like the one prepared here!

Have been to Azou several times, and have always enjoyed good food and service. I was not disappointed on our return this week!

I can't believe how rude the staff were. The whole point of going to a restaurant is to enjoy not just the food but also the service. Huge dissapointment.

I went to Azou for my birthday. I booked it through phone call and everything was perfect initially.
There were 8 of us. They did not mention of any minimum charge, so initially we tried to order a few starters to share among us. Apparently, the owner was not too happy and asked us to at least order one starter and one main dish each, which we agreed to do in the end.
My friend bought me a home cake and the owner wanted to charge us 2 pound per person just to cut and have the cake there, which we refused because it is a rip off!
So in the end, the owner who was not happy with us asked us to LEAVE and go home!! Never ever in my life, I have been asked to leave from a restaurant!!!
I did not see a point of arguing, the owner was rude to us, and I am not going to put myself at the same level as he was, so we left, without any arguement.
The food might look lovely and delicious, but with the way I am being treated, there is NO way I am going to the place again or even recommend it to my friend.

I fancied Moroccan so booked Azou on the basis of reviews. Bank holiday Saturday early evening, we were the only diners but strangely this didn't affect our enjoyment of the meal. We started with Brik (excellent) and calamari (standard). Mains were Hummus tagine and Couscous Royale. The lamb and chicken were incredibly tender and the chickpea sauce rich and tasty. We shared ice cream with sauce which was fantastic and the Moroccan coffee was lovely. I haven't had Moroccan food before so can't compare but there were lots of interesting flavours going on - saffron was evident as well as cardamon and cinnamon. Would definately recommend.

I absolutely LOVE this restaurant! It's small, so mind you don't miss it. In the summer season, the place is not very busy but come winter, the locals flock to this place for a great meal. I can't rate the staff here enough, especially the always smiling manager with his great eccentric french accent! I come here to be pampered and have a great evening out. The food here is FANTASTIC! Everyone who comes here must try the Brik - its a bit like a posh battered fish (filled with tuna, an egg and spices). I always come here for a tangine and have tried most of them by now - all excellent. It's so good to go into a restaurant and have staff that really do want to make sure you have a good time and its even better when the food is great!

We simply love this restaurant. My boyfriend's mother joined us on our last visit - but has a very sensitive palate and didn't fancy anything on the menu. The manager sat with her and asked what types of food she liked and arranged for the chef to cook her a special dish to suit. Above and beyond the service expected in a restaurant. As always a wonderful meal in lovely company. I must try something other than the chicken djej, but it really is the most sublime dish I've ever had. We're going tonight, why not join us?

I have been to Morocco and the food here is better than the food in most of the places there. They staff are really friendly and helpful and the food is amazing. Really good quality meat and they make even the plainest dishes really tasty. Very good value for money. HIghly recommended

Had a lovely birthday meal here on a Saturday night with group of friends. Impressed by the decor and North African atmosphere, along with discreet service. Very tasty hummus, although the 'brik' my friend had looked great - crisp, thin pastry filled with potato, egg and tuna. My Tagine King Prawns (sauted with garlic, herbs and spices in a crab sauces) was superb and the couscous and roasted vegetables complimented it well. Would definately eat here again.
