We had our wedding reception at the Peasant in January 2012 and can’t recommend it enough as a fantastic relaxed venue with lovely food and wine.

We have had lots of comments from friends and family on how much they enjoyed the food, and particularly liked that they could choose from three options on the day.

Nick was really helpful when we were planning the wedding and helped us to arrange the day with the minimum of fuss. We were really pleased with the DJ that he recommended to us and my dad was over the moon that he ordered in his favourite beer by special request!

Thanks to everyone at The Peasant for making it such a brilliant day. As I’ve said above, we really can’t recommend it enough.

We used the Peasant for our wedding reception in October 2011 and couldn’t have been happier with everything they did for us. Nick the manager was really helpful, friendly and approachable beforehand when we met to go through what we wanted and nothing was too much trouble for him – whether it be setting up the downstairs bar the way we wanted it with the bunting and pictures we bought along, to making the cake, to helping us organise the DJ equipment hire, to choosing the menu.

Throughout the day itself all the staff was so friendly and nothing was too much trouble. They had a brilliant knack of being one step ahead in thinking and knowing what we might want. It was the hottest day of the year and when we all turned up on the Routemaster they automatically thought to bring drinks outside for us. The downstairs part of the pub has lovely traditional old feel to it and the upstairs restaurant is lovely on normal occasions (we’d eaten there a few times before) but looked amazing when we went for our Wedding Breakfast. There’s a great contrast between the cool casualness of downstairs to the elegance of upstairs. It made it feel like we weren’t in the same place all day.

One of the reasons we picked the Peasant was you don’t all have to have one set menu. Nick gave us a whole range of options to pick from beforehand and meant guests had a choice of three starters, mains and desserts – which they could choose at the table. All of which was delicious. We had so many compliments about the food. And as for the wine – well, it was a good night previously when we had the tasting, and plenty got knocked back during the meal.

The evening was mainly downstairs and had a great relaxed atmosphere with people either dancing, chatting, and drinking. We hired some DJ decks and played records ourselves and worked great.

Overall, we’d totally recommend The Peasant if you’re looking a great London wedding reception. Fantastic staff, venue, food, service – the lot. Thank you to everyone involved.

Just a quick note to say many, many thanks to you and your staff for putting on such a cracking wedding meal and event on Saturday night.

Xxxxx and I absolutely loved it - it really couldn't have gone any better. The service was brilliant, the guys in the kitchen (who often go unsung) played a blinder. Everyone had a very very good time.

Many, many thanks again - we'll be recommending the Peasant to anyone who'll listen!

Went for dinner with a largish group to The Peasant based on recommendation and was not disappointed. We reserved an area in the bar for drinks, prior to heading up to the Dining Room for dinner. They have a great range of beers and real ales. The service was excellent, both in the bar and the dining room - the staff looked after us very well. The food really delicious - the lamb in particular - and a great evening was had by all. Would definitely return and recommend.

We hired The Peasant as the venue for our wedding reception in March 2011. It was such an amazing day topped off by Nick (the manager) and his team being absolutely fantastic. All our friends and family can't stop talking about how great the food was and what a fantastic atmosphere there was all day and night at the pub. I would highly recommend anyone who wants to have their wedding reception at a pub, to chose The Peasant! They know how to throw a party and all the added little extras that they arranged for us on the day were wonderful.

We had looked at quite a few venues before finding The Peasant, and as reviewers have said before, we knew as soon as we walked through the door that this was the place for us. The staff are all very friendly and professional and Nick the manager was a joy to work with, he made the whole lead up to the wedding easy and fun.

Our wedding day at The Peasant was wonderful with fabulous food, great service and loads of fun. We enjoyed every minute and have had very positive feedback from many of our guests. We cannot thank The Peasant enough and if we were to do it all again (which is tempting!) we'd definitely go back.

Highly recommended!!

We had our wedding reception at The Peasant on 22 January 2011. As many people have written before, our experience was fantastic. We had looked at several different types of venues but from the moment we first walked through the door at The Peasant we knew this was the place for us. Nick (the manager) was fabulous and so helpful, accommodating every request, including buying in specific beers that we wanted and even arranging a special mini-Cornish pasty tasting for us! The layout of The Peasant is perfect for weddings, with the bar downstairs for pre-meal drinks and evening dancing, and the lovely restaurant upstairs for the meal. The food was excellent and the wine selection was good too. The service from all the staff was brilliant - everything was taken care of for us meaning we could just enjoy our day. The guests really enjoyed themselves too - quite a few said it was the best wedding they had ever been to! We can't thank Nick and his team enough for making this important day so memorable.

We had our wedding at the Peasant on the 30 October 2010. It is the best kept wedding venue secret in London. The actual pub works brilliantly for a wedding, with a downstairs bar that is great for the reception and post lunch dancing, and a characterful, convivial upstairs dining room that comfortably seats 80 people for a sit down meal. Food and wine were spot on. The team at the Peasant, ably led by Nic and Jono, were exceptional in their warmth and service. Even though they do a lot of weddings, they make you feel as though yours is the most important one. A rare talent. We had a bunch of fussy guests, and a lot of pub owners - all of whom thought the Peasant was a class act and that's from the experts.

We also had our wedding reception at The Peasant in September 2010, and it really was a wonderful day. The staff were friendly and helpful from start to finish. The food was excellent, and our guests commented that it was definitley the best wedding food they had ever had. As others have said it was also unique that we were able to offer our guests a choice of food on the day.

It is a beautifully restored pub, and the dining room upstairs has the perfect atmosphere for a special but intimate event. We can't thank Nick, and his team, enough for making our wedding day far exceed our expectations!!

We had our wedding reception at The Peasant. Nick the manager was really good in the run up and all the staff were friendly and helpful on the day. The food was great and it was a massive bonus to have a choice of food for each guest on the day. The atmosphere of the venue is perfect for a city wedding and all our guests loved the decor and vibe.
