Sofra (Mayfair)

Had a terrible experience at Sofra last night. 9 of us had the healthy special menu and there was probably only enough food for 4 people. We did not recieve all of the food stated on the menu. It was basically just bread and dips. We expected a little more for £14 - I actually though we had only had the first course. My girlfriend had the moussaka and it wasnt cooked and she left most of it. When I asked to speak with the manager I was just left at the door and ignored. One member of staff even started to laugh at me at one point. So to try and get their attention I told everyone who was coming into the restaurant about my experience. Only when I had talked 8 people into going to pizza express over the road did the manager turn up. He basically just stood there staring at me. Not very helpful at all. Possibly one of the worst examples of customer service I have ever witnessed. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

This restaurant in Shepherds Market was reccomended to us by a friend when we told them we were visiting the area. Although we enjoyed the food and service we would not dine there again as we were surprised with the bill. What looked like a good price for a quick lunch - £8.95 pp ended up costing £36 for two of us. The wine was pricey at £5.50 a glass but it was the £3.00 'cover charge' PLUS the £4 'service charge' which was already added to our bill that was unappreciated.

We went this week for our first time. Great food, quick service and the one error in our order was replaced free of charge and promptly with no fuss. We will definitely go again.

We enjoy Sofra as it is pleasant and easy. It is a good opportunity to experience Turkish wine, in a unique area of London. It is our fifth visit.

I WAS NOT IMPRESSED BOOKED A TABLE FOR 2, WHEN ARRIVED WAS SEATED AT A TABLE FOR 4 WITH A MAN I DID NOT KNOW ASKED FOR A PRIVATE TABLE SAT OUTSIDE IN THE COLD.MEAL WAS A PIECE OF MEAT GREEN SALAD LEAVES AND FRIED POTATOES COULD COOK BETTER AT HOME THIS WAS SUPPOSED TO BE NICE ROMANTIC DINNER - THIS IT WAS NOT

What a find! While walking through Mayfair we stumbled upon this pretty little restaurant and decided to pop in for lunch. We were greeted with smiles and provided a wonderful table near the window. The service was outstanding and the food delicious. Highly recommend.
