The food is hit and miss and the ambiance of the upstairs is much too bright. My wife had a lobster pasta and minestrone soup to start and both were fair cuisine. I started with a carpaccio of scotch beef that tasted and had the texture that it was left out in the sun for a good part of the day. It was several shades of dark red and black in some areas. The mains were grilled dover sole and steak and quite frankly three was obviously much more work put into the starters than the mains. Sadly at the end of the evening he staff ruined the dinner entirely by accosting as at the door an accusing us if trying to pay with one 20 pound Irish note. When I explained this was legal tender he then defensively said there was 20 pounds short (most of which 18.59 pound would have been tip) and forced us to recount it in front of the manager. It turns out he had miscounted and also did not know an Irish pound was legal tender. It would have been fine if there was a friendly gesture but it was just plain rude to walk away without any comment after those interactions.

What can I say...except AMAZING??? I went on a Monday evening...service very attentive but I must say that the stronghold of this Knightsbridge restaurant is it's food. I have never eaten such heavenly, exquisite food in my life. The honey glazed quail starter, then the fresh pasta veal cannelloni and the sea bass in Amarone wine sauce...was too good to describe. Would recommend this superb restaurant to everyone and look forward to returning very soon!!

ABSOLUTELY THE BEST ITALIAN RESTAURANT IN LONDON. Being Italian I never tend to go to Italian restaurants in the capital...but when I went there on a Friday night I must say this restaurant has amazed me. I have not eaten this good Italian food even in my hometown. The starter of Tiger prawns was such a generous portion and the combination with the Sicilian caponnata was superb. The fresh pasta which I was told is made by the Head Chef all on site, served with fillet of beef, mushrooms and sundried tomatoes was to die for. I can't wait to go back again, I would reccomend this to everyone. It's fantastic!!! And the service is attentive, decor very luxurious, receptionist extremely kind and fantastic wine list.

My daughter (who went to school in Rome for four years) and I (owner of a cooking school) went to Toto's last night for dinner. I have never had such a mediocre Italian meal.

My starter (asparagus) was over cooked, my main course (veal picatta a limone) was dull and dry. The zuchini fritti was great. The fruit for dessert was not ripe.

The service was brusque and rushed. The decor is dated and shabby.

The wine was fine. I don't see how people can rave about this as a great place -

they must have no knowledge of Italian food or maybe they have no taste buds.

We lived in London for several years during our last two years dined at Toto's regularly. We discovered Toto's after one year of living just around the corner! On our nightly walks we noticed lots of chauffer driven cars and thought it was a club of some sort until we actually called! The rest is history! We return to London at least two times during the year and dining at Toto's and chatting with the folks there is the hightlight of our trip. Next trip is October...already thinking of what to have.

Was there on a Tuesday night for my wife's birthday. Lovely room, decor and atmosphere (quite buzzy considering it was a Tuesday) and we had a great table. The lady who took our coats was charming and greeted us very nicely.

Foodwise I thought Toto's was quite good, though not amazing as my main of stuffed chicken was too salty. Also the side order of sauteed potatoes came in a very mean portion. My wife's food which included the lobster spaghetti was apparently excellent.

Service was OK. While we didn't feel hurried I thought the food came out a little quickly which meant we were in and out in less than an hour and a half after 3 courses and coffee. Service was also a little hushed and unsmiley - perfectly polite but not much more. Finally and most annoyingly they really should steer clear of the sly little tactic of presenting me with the card reader on the screen which said 'gratuity: yes or no?' when 12.5% service is already included. Very cheeky.

Overall I'd go back but little things like the service meant I might be inclined to try other places first.

Toto's, so so. Nice place but stuffy. Too many business types with arm pieces. Too many sugar daddy's or gold diggers. The food was OK, the service was not bad. Overall perhaps highly priced for what it is. A blend experience overall.
