i have been to the memories of india in osterley and the one in kensington too. although both very different, they were certainly great experiences. the food is so fresh and the service is very friendly. im not sure why there are such ludicrous reviews about the restuarant below, they certainly do sound very far fetched indeed.

id recommend both of the memories of indias to families and businesses, fabulous place for quiet dinners, meetings and parties!

Memories of India is the best indian restaurant I have visited in my entire life. I have been to some of the best in London (central) and outter london as I work with VIP's and there is no comparison. The dishes are not as oily as most indian restaurants where some restaurants use tinned veg ie" tionned veg in their sag aloo the dishes at memories are so fresh and full of flavour its remarkable. Why i choose memories of india over every other indian restaurant is because it has the lot: Clean and contemporary, a fantastic atmosphere, attentive and happy to help staff, the best indian food in london, and all the little extras like the unbeatable mint sauce and mixed pickles. The house wine is also excellant and I have had more than 10 special occasions celebrated there. Infact, the only reason im writing this review is because im about to order a takeaway from there, they give you 20% for takeaway and i only came on the internet to get their telephone number because ive lost it- although, by now, i really should know it off by heart. Osterley memories of india deserves an award!!!!

DISASTROUS EXPERIENCE AT 'MEMORIES OF INDIA'...

Had a terrible experience at 'Memories of India' at Gloucester road on the 3rd of July. Our group included 5 included 2 little children. We were just about to order when one of the kids accidently dropped a small serving plate.

You won't believe what happened next!

The owner of the restaurant actually came up and asked us to get out of the restaurant! When we apologized for the child breaking the plate, he rudely asked us to get out of the restaurant.

I must say that I have never felt so humiliated and infurious due to a dining experience, or lack thereoff.

We had friends of ours who has never visited London before and got a rather nasty firsthand experience in a (supposedly) decent restaurant. Much to my embarassment I felt strange actually walking out of the restaurant and having to apologize to my guests!

I WOULD RECOMMEND THAT YOU NEVER TAKE ANY KIDS TO MEMORIES OF INDIA...AND THAT YOU BE VERY VERY CAREFUL TO TRY NOT TO MESS THE TABLE DURING YOUR MEAL...OR YOU MIGHT BE HELD BY THE SCRUFF OF YOUR NECK AND BE ASKED TO GET OUT...!!!

I feel like escalating this even further, maybe take it up to a London association of restaurants, if one exists..

My colleagues and I have dined at the restaurant and throuthly enjoy the food that is served here. We tend to book the conservatory at the back which sets the right atmosphere and ambience for our needs. The staff are polite and attentive. We are looking forward to going there tomorrow evening!
