Been to the restaurant twice in two months this year already and both times the food has been excellent, can't wait to go back. Enjoyed the wine of the month recommendation. Very popular with good atmosphere. Staff friendly and service good. What a gem! Helen - Epsom

The Fire Stables is a gem of South West London - the staff are friendly & helpful, the daily changing menu is delicious and is complemented by their well chosen wine list and drinks menu. We have had many great times there - both in the stylish dining room, and the more upbeat bar - and keep coming back for more. We live locally, frequently popping in, and have never had a bad experience there. In fact, we love it so much we recently held our wedding reception there. We could not have had a more perfect day - the food was delicious, the atmosphere was great, and we were all really well looked after. Many of our friends commented on the friendly and professional service, and the attention to detail was fantastic. We can't recommend it highly enough. Thank you Fire Stables for a fabulous day!

Have to say that the service was a mixed bag. Went there last night with some friends and asked if we could have a table. Was told that the restaurant menu and bar menu differed in price but the pleasant brunette waitress spoke to the manager and said it was fine. When we got to the table we were told by another waitress that the first one didn't work for that part of the business and we would have to order from the restaurant menu. As it turned out, the restaurant menu was almost the same as the other one and were informed however that there was no lamb shank or cod. It made me think that they were more interested in conveying a snotty image than the delivery of good food. I mean! ...why even mention it when the menus are so similar. Was told they were trying to 'maintain a different standard' in the restaurant. ....give me the service and cordial staff in the bar anyday!! They certainly do have a different standard....achieved that one very easily. Not sure I would bother again. Food was nothing great and left orders that the tip only went to the pleasant girl and barman. Shame that such lousy attitudes can put you off a place.....restaurant staff/owners take note!

A group of about 30 of us went to The Fire Stables last night for our works Christmas "do". I think I can safely say on behalf of us all that we were delighted with the venue and the service. As for the food - it was excellent. Everyone at work today has been saying how much they enjoyed the occasion and especially how wonderful the food was - out of 30 of us, no-one has had a single (even slight) negative comment - well done to Chefs and Staff, we WILL be back!

I have often wondered if good reviews on this web-site are written by the restaurant staff themselves to boost their ratings. Well this is a very genuine and well deserved review from the discerning, well-contented staff in the Rheumatology Department at St George's Hospital.

Thank you Fire Stables for an excellent evening.

A table of six of us were there for Sunday lunch end of October 2005. In the same week I'd eaten at Le Pont de La Tour, The Real Greek and Circus. This was by far the best food out of all of them. All six of us were impressed and I don't recall waiting a long time for the food to arrive, as we were chatting and drinking happily . It's difficult for me to believe how this place has such bad reviews. Expensive? No, it fell into the £10-£15 for a main course category. It was noisy and buzzy and there were children there too, which is never something that pleases me. Overall a positive experience.
