You don't have to be Italian like me to find their risotto disappointing to say the least. It was explained to me that not all risotto are the same but this wasn't one and there was no Italian staff to be seen. Pretty expensive for the quality. Antipasto was good. Service was unfriendly.

A bit pricey but the gnocchi ripieni were fantastic! I can honestly say that this is not "cucina italiana con sapore all'estero".

Service was Ok and the atmosphere was a nice and unpretentious one.

That was 2003.

Now I´ll go again

My husband and I had a fabulous meal here and just loved Riva. The service was spot on, not over the top but somebody always there if required. The menu was fantastic, we really were so spoilt for choice. The ambiance, incredibly relaxed and low key and the food, just superb. Stunning flowers, attractively furnished/decorated, we would recommend and go back in a flash.

Nice italian food. However, the menu is rather limited and quite fussy. A little bit snobby and overpriced but bustling atmosphere as the place is small and always full.

I'm Italian.

I worked for them just for one day two years ago. I can say that food is excellent. Their cousine is Italian exactly from Veneto, a region in the North of Italy.

Fish is excellent but also pudding (try the cinnamom ice-cream with honey, amaretti and aceto balsamico). Waiters are very kind and full of cares for their guests.

The restaurant is not so elegant for being a four stars one, but the atmosphere is good. I will suggest you to have a dinner on the table that are on the street. It's all quiet and relaxing...and very romantic!

Moreover if you are lucky you can also meet famous singer and celebrities because beyond the restaurant there is a studio! But mind...

...prices are quite high, so it is not reccomended for teenagers!

This restaurant has the nice cosy feel of a "local" but at a price, and with various levels of success with the food they present. Having dined here on several occasions I have found it a very hit and miss affair. Sometimes excellent , sometimes just okay.Lately I have found the cooking uninspired. Like a lot of London restaurants it now has ideas above its station. Nice place to go if you are local and dont feel like cooking, but no longer a place to visit for that special occasion.

If you want nice Italien food at grossly inflated prices, then this is the place for you. I wasn't aware of the "celeb popularity" of this place until I read the reviews on this site, otherwise i'd have gone elsewhere.

In fairness the food was very good but the tables too closely packed together for comfort which came in handy when the bill

arrived - they were that close I couldn't

fall off the chair.

Sorry but £85 for a modest meal for 2 is

too much.

Fantastic Italian food, with excellent service and a great atmosphere. A bit pricey, but you're guaranteed a great meal here.

And as previous reviewers have mentioned, a great place to spot a few famous faces - last time I was there, Tom Hanks was tucking in at the next table!
