can't remember a nicer meal in london than the one i had last night...myself and 3 friends just loved it!!!! from the white peach bellini on arrival to the last spoon of warm chocolate espresso cake, everything was a delight. the waiters were friendly and helpful (perfect english) and the maitre d' recommended the most delicious wine from italy. although it's not the most convenient location you really should try it...and enjoy it!!!

We attended the restaurant on a Saturday evening. The atmosphere was convivial however the food was both over rate and over priced, particularly in light of the portion sizes being unacceptably small.

went to the phoenix in the 2nd week it opened in 1996 for the 1st time and i'm still going back every so often. i've always found the food excellent and the service friendly and relaxed. to sit outside on the terrace in the summer is wonderful and can't think of any other place in london to spent a warm summers evening drinking and eating.

I had one of the most unpleasant meals in recent memory at this place. The chef smothers everything in olive oil and taragon.

Also, the menu is one of those difficult ones where they try too hard and there is hardly anything you fancy.

I bought a bottle of ChateauNeuf for £50 and it would have been overpriced at £8 in an off license.

En route from the toilets I saw a waitress pouring a glass of wine back into a bottle at the bar (classy).

Total cost was £120 and I would much raher have gone to Nandos.

They had told us they were understaffed on Saturday evening but service, while polite and friendly, was really slow. Food was OK - a nice neighbourhood restaurant - wouldn't go out of my way to eat there though. Nice to sit out in the summer, although it is on a busy road (but there are plants & sparkly lights blocking the road from view)

oh dear the service fell apart on saturday bringing mains leaving starter dishes they said too many people came in at once have to say the food in the main was great apart from a stingy rocket and just about parmesan salad will give it another go on a quiet tuesday night but i doubt i would trust them with a weekend.

Went here earlier in the year and it was great. Went recently and it was not nearly as good...food was poor and service appalling. Waited nearly 30mins for an aperitif...which then arrived 2 mins before the starters. starter was bland and overcooked. very disappointed, for a restaurant that charges that much.

Went in last monday night for dinner. Good food, lovely decor but not necessarily the best service. As it was a Monday it was a quiet night, but we did enjoy ourselves.

My wife and I happened upon this restaurant on Friday night. Our train was suspended at Barnes station and we caught the wrong bus. We hopped off at the first stop and then decided whether to keep going the wrong way or try to improvise our path home. To cut a long story short, this restaurant appeared at just the right moment from behind a hedge and redeemed our night. Friendly, well-meaning service, delightful food, and a very pleasant atmosphere. It struck me as a restaurant with nothing to prove - much like our fellow diners. I would go here intentionally next time!

not very impressed with it all staff were slow, Some women called Miss Brown said she was the GM. I through this would improve the service but not.

Well the food a fusion between pasta and sauces can only come to mind.

Would I go again, I think not. Appalling encounter, she should think again about her management in and out of the kitchen
