A really nice pub with a pleasent terrace area in a good location just of Putney's busy High Street. However, the food, from a small menu, is pretty bland generic stuff and not worth making a specific trip for...
Went for lunch there recently and had a soggy, chilly chicken wrap and my friend had supermarket sausages and regurgited, sorry rehydrated, mash... service was oddly in ya face, the waiter trying to engage us in some full on banter about having a large instead of a small glass of wine, but as it was quiet I'm thinking he was just trying to keep himself entertained!
I've also had Sunday lunch there which was better, but by no means great.
Go and hang out, and have a few beers before trying the food!

I was extremely disappointed with the level of service I received at this pub. The bar staff are fine but as one of the other reviewers said, the manager is rude and arrogant. The food is ok, but in light of the disappointing service, I won't be coming back, particularly given the number of other pubs in Putney to choose from.

I have recently moved to Putney and have stumbled across this charming pub. The staff are extremely welcoming, and the vibe is unpretentious yet cool enough for a girls night out! We drank there during the boat race and originally planned to stay there for one drink yet stayed there for the whole day and night. Considering this pub is extremely busy the food is top notch. Only negative is the toilets, the doors don't close properly. Out of all the pubs in Putney I would rate the Coat and Badge the highest-excellent beer garden .Order the Pimms - delicous and good value for money !

I’ve been going to this pub for more than 5 years now, especially summer time. The atmosphere is great, food is very tasty and service was excellent till I went there couple days a go, and I was shocked!! The manager was the rudest guy that I ever came across in a customer service! He had a really bad vibe about him, no smile no charm- nothing!!! And I wasn’t the only 1 who thought that, most of people I know, said the same thing. The rest of staff was fine, but I feel sorry for them because they have to work with such an unpleasant manager. I personally don’t want to go there again if he’s there, and I love that pub!

Whether out drinking, or relaxing after the night before, this pub is brilliant.
It bustles with south londeners so make sure you get there early to secure a table!
Brilliant food, and good beer, relaxed enough to enjoy a long sunday lunch.

Spent over £10 each for a Sunday roast with two friends and got presented with a fatty slice of meat draped over a couple of roast spuds, the vegetables were wet cabbage and a few remains of over cooked cauli, served in a colander which was dribbling hot water over the table! This helping was between three. There were no serving spoons and we were forced to pour hot water over our plates while scraping cabbage from the colander onto our plates with our forks.
One barman for a busy bar too, and they made lager shandy with soda water.
Save your pennies - go elsewhere...

Went with a group of mates to this pub last Sunday to try the sunday roast. It was bloody awful, stay well away.
Admittedly we were a large-ish group (8-10) but we had to wait over 1.5 hrs for any food, served by unhelpful staff, the portion sizes were small (certainly not worth a tenner) and most of what was served up was cold and had to be sent back to be microwaved!
On top of this they couldn't even get the bill right (c.£15 of drinks added that we didn't order).
Really don't know why they bother with food if they can't do it even vaguely competently. The waitress was apologetic when I complained but by then the damage had already been done.
Avoid.
