Green Olive

Intimate, if slightly cramped, Green Olive is a delightful little resaturant ran by friendly Italians bringing you service with a wink and a smile.
The crab pasta was scrumptious and there's an impressive wine list. Head downstairs to watch the chef at work. The tour de force is the tiramisu, which is a giant-sized portion but is the most devine tasting dessert I have ever tasted. Not cheap but well worth splashing out.

we live in maida vale and some of the best italian food in town is at our door step the green olive.Food and service are quite exceptional. Its a shame that they do not have the huge PR budget of other notable restaurants, thas why there are never any mention of them anywhere. But we are very happy to have them in our area.

This is a somewhere that I have eaten at several times over the last two years, as the previous reviewer stated it is now back to its best, an excellent meal last week with a client and I am taking another client for dinner tonight.

The food was adequate and overpriced for Italian food. Head to Italy for the real thing or the pub next door for value food and great service. The service was slow and unorganised. Maybe go back when the new management kicks in and improves the place.

Disappointed to say the least. We used to be regulars at the Green Olive, yet with the management changed and the chef changed I am not sure we will return. The food is still good, however the main courses are just a bit too much nouvel cuisine and dont justify the high end prices. The dessert - a cheese plate - was not worth the money. The four pieces of dry cheese were heartlessly presented on the plate without any fruits or crackers. The petit fours were finally brought to the table long after we had finished our coffee. There are far too many waiters standing around and even wondering up and down the restaurant. It becomes quickly apparent that the new head waiter doesnt have his crew under control. We would normally happily pay £80-£ 90 for the meal with wine but this time we paid £ 120.00 for a meal that didnt justify the price.

Six of us went to dinner at the Green Olive last night. Fist impressions were really good. Great menu and wine list with comfortable surroundings. The food was excellent, using notably high quality ingredients. The service was initially good. After a bottle of Procecco our starters arrived in good time (Amazing scallops). From then, however, the night was let down by a run of disappointments. Five of our mains arrive and we were then informed that they had run out of risotto for the sixth meal. We waited with five meals at the table as the last was made. It arrived, however our red which had been ordered at the beginning of the night was still absent. Techno music then spoilt the previously calming atmosphere.
Three courses, a bottle of Procecco, and four bottles of wine came to £400 for six of us. Great food and wine which could pass for the price, however a REAL disappointment from the service.
