My Sister and I had a great evening at The Cheptow restaurant; we reserved a table for 7.30, had a superb leisurely 3 course meal, a couple of drinks and coffee. we found the staff friendly and efficient and attentive. The total price of £90 for the two of us was within a reasonable cost we would expect to pay for this area. We ate at our own pace, never felt rushed, had time to digest and enjoy each course and finally left after 3 1/2 hours. we will certainly return again and would recommend to our friends.

I had our annual Christmas party here and must say had a fabulous time. The decor is modern, the starter and main course was excellent but the dessert was a little disappointing, but overall enjoyable. The staff were excellent and managed to impressively remain calm when a male friend got soo drunk that he kept touching the bottoms of the male staff (he's surprsingly straight). I really didn't notice any 'city boys & their boring wives/girlfriends'; everyone seemed pleasant enough. Great location, a couple of minutes walk from Notting Hill Gate.

Nice looking pub but brazenly overpriced. I ordered the goats cheese and roast vegetable bruschetta, £5.95 from the starter end of the menu. I was expecting a light meal but was served the stingiest plate of food I've ever seen - two passport photo-sized rounds of brushetta with a rocket garnish. To make matters worse, my complaint was met with no more than mild disinterest from our waitress.
We paid £28 for 2 glasses of house wine, bangers and mash and the bruschetta - not value for money by any stretch.
They also belong the breed who think it's smart to include a 12.5% gratuity on the bill but set the card machine to ask for a second tip - not impressive.

Very friendly staff and reasonable Gastro fare. Very reasonable prices for some decent wines on the list and a relaxed atmosphere make for a fun evening.

I can't believe this place scored a 10 for food. Maybe they were having an off day the day we went. The food was terrible, verging on inedible.

Ridiculously busy - service very poor. Don't even think about getting a seat unless you turn up at 11am. A tiny bar with long waits on fri and sat. If you decide to eat bring your bank manager - Fillet of beef for nearly £19, get real this is a pub after all. Better off going to Notting Grill for those prices. Used to be a regular but now its over crowded and very smokey. Leave this one alone.
