Zinc Bar and Grill

Had a christmas shopping day lunch on a saturday with my 60 year old mother who was suitably impressed. Lovely atmosphere and surroundings, food was lovely (I had fish and chips!) and wine even better. Good wine list. Staff very friendly and helpful. Definitely pop in for lunch again.

Food was good but terrible service. Waited 30 minutes for a bottle of wine, 30 minutes to order foor. Place was so noisy that even the waiter could not hear what we ordered and got it wrong, let alone speak to someone next to you.

If you want a nice quiet meal this is not the place for you...in fact, this is just NOT the place to go.

Awful experience. Ordered an easy burger for Saturday lunch. The meat was hard and the chips were soggy. When i complained, i was brought a raw burger to show the quality of the meat. So so disappointing. Overpriced, bad service and terrible food.

Great food, great service. Friendly staff – especially the manager who was charming – and the food is good value for money in this area. I come to Zinc regularly and will continue to do so. It’s the perfect spot for business lunch and post work drinks with a charcuterie board. Style with substance.

I went to Zinc for the first time last month for a late lunch. The waitress was smiley and pleasant, and we were also attended by the manager as required. The food was hot, good proportions and prompt.

The wine list is not extensive but does have all that most diners would need. Pre-lunch cocktails were great.

As the evening started the bar area started to get busy and the noise levels rose and the place had a real buzz to it.

I don't believe everything I read (roadside STOP signs for example) so I'm returning on Saturday night - would recommend you give it a try too.

This place is just lovely, after finding it way back in January I come quite often with the girls for a post shopping dinner or an after or even mid work rant over a good glass of wine.I truly don't understand the last 2 comments, I have always found the vibe pretty jumping on a Friday, Saturday night or nicely chilled during the day. The staff are nothing but nice and can never do enough. It is the small things I enjoy, remembering your name, the cute matches, the change on a tray and then the cute bar staff are of course a bonus! I would always recommend this place and I will continue to do so.

I ate at the Zinc bar last December and although the meal was nothing special the place was hopping. Not quite the same when the same group of friends ate there last Tuesday night - it was deserted. We struggled to find anything appealing on the menu. Two of us chose pasta with crab and chillie - lots of pasta, very little crab and no chillie - completely bland. Another friend chose fish and chips out of desperation - OK but nothing special. The only person who had anything positive to say in our group ordered the chicken breast with sweet potatoes - apparently it 'wasn't bad'. The wine list was short and didn't seem to have many mid range priced wines so we chose the house white which was quite pleasant. We skipped puddings and went straight for the bill - anxious to get out of the place and go find a bit of atmosphere somewhere else.

My friends and I ate at Zinc over Xmas. First impressions were good as the place looked great. I don't understand the last persons comments, the mixed charcuterie-anti-pasti was tasty and fresh, and perfect to share as a starter because of the size! 1 friend had the burger and said it was pretty good. It was ordered Med-Well and cooked just the way it was requested. I had steak which was pretty tasty also. The rest of our group had no complaints about there choices either. I like the vibe and feel of Zinc, and will return for another dinner soon with freinds.
