We come here often and I have to say I don't understand where the negative reviews are coming from. The service is always friendly and attentive without being intrusive, and the food is evidently freshly cooked. One reviewer makes the point that the poppadums and chutneys are overpriced at £4, but they are in fact a generous selection of different snacks, not ordinary poppadums, and the chutneys are about 6-7 pots of different hand-made chutneys. Rasa isn't cheap, but there is a difference between "cheap" and" value for money" within any particular price bracket. Again, re portion size, amounts are perfectly reasonable and if you have the vegetarian or fish feasts there is more than enough food if that is a concern.

I would never recommend anyone to this place especially those who want authentic kerala food. The starters were really dry. The fish curry had the same fish as my starter with a very milky sauce over it and the fish was like leather. I have never seen a Kerala curry with just a piece of fried fish with sauce over it. Both the prawn curry and fish currys were filled with cooked onion slices and looked like a jello!!! Yuck, Really bad food espeicially when some other the other restaurtant in their chain are quite good!!!!!

After reading and hearing a lot about this restaurant I finally made it last night. It was a cold night and my fears of the restaurant being totally overheated were confirmed. They had even put an additional fan heater next to our table to dry out the air completely. Generally ventilation and fresh air is common problem in UK restaurants. In the bathroom I burnt my hands on the hot water tap because the boiler temperature was set far too high.

We had the seafood platter and the vegetarian platter at £ 30 and £ 22 respectively. This provided us with a variety and gave us the opportunity to taste the restaurants signature dishes. The food was very nice though surprising mild for South Indian food but full of lovely flavours. The wine (Chilean Merlot) was also very good. The waiters were attentive and polite. Despite the high cost I would recommend the platters and this combination.

I am of malayalam origin myself and the food served here does not do authentic kerala cuisine justice. The food had hardly any spice and we were given a small plate of cut up chilli's to add in ourselves if we wanted more spice!

The restaurant was quite cramped and I did not find the waiters were as attentitive as I would of liked.

The food was overpriced and certainly not value for money. Won't be going back.
