We went there on 22nd december 2010
Absolutely shocked at the con way this restaraunt makes money on top of the basic bill.
Firstly if you are using a taste london or any discount card it really doesnt work out good value at this restaraunt. You might order for example a dessert for 9.50 thinking you will get a 50% discount but then desserts aren't included and you are only told when the bill is brought out.
Having a budget of 40 pounds for a mid week meal my wife and myself went here as it was on out taste london card.
By hook or crook this restaraunt managed to inflate our bill to 55 pounds despite our basic food only costing 30 pounds. You've got cover chrages to cover the five olives they give you at the start (2 pounds per person), you have the service charge at 12.5% on the full bill, and you have various items that you are charged full price . I would have never ordered a dessert at 9.50 if I had known i wasnt getting a discount.
All in all it has nice decor NO BELLY DANCERS as widely advertised and nice waiter who make it so awkward to question anything on the bill.
Overall verdict expect to pay double of what you plan to spend here as it is added to the bill afterwards

I have been a customer of Levant since it opened, but after a notable absence of three years I returned last night for dinner with a friend. Big mistake. Last night was quite simply the worst dining experience of my life.
First, the toilets. Owing to a problem with the plumbing, the main entrance was closed so diners were expected to find their way to the 'alternative' entrance through the neighbouring hotel. After getting very lost, I was first greeted by the livid hotel manager who claimed to know nothing of these alternative arrangements. Protesting my innocence as a humble and confused customer, I was a witness to a huge argument between the head waiter and the hotel manager on the restaurant floor!
After a half hour of this turbulence, I was finally able to order. The food arrived burnt, dry and late. I waited 45 minutes for one dish, and when i asked the waiter why it had taken so long he simply replied he didnt know. Apologies from the waiter were non existent, and at this point I was ready to walk out.
The fact that this kind of service is being offered in a West End restaurant is both disgraceful and an insult to this great city. Please avoid Levant at all costs in protest for all the great restaurants offering excellent service and food in London today. I am still waiting for my apology.........

Follow the red rose petals from Wigmore Street and descend the tiled stairs lit by candles and you will find Levant. We arrived at 6.30pm on a Saturday night and without a booking. The restaurant manager said no problem, as long as we were finished at our table by 8.30pm - fair and up front. Very attentive service, drinks quick to come and we ordered the meat feast for four. The starters in particular were delicious and we had a couple of bottles of the Chateau Ksara red. As we were leaving the atmosphere was really hotting up and our waiter found us a table in the bar so we could have another drink and enjoy the belly dancers. If you enjoy plenitful tasty food, beautiful decor, good service and a vibrant atmosphere this is a great place.
