Browns (Mayfair)
your comments review this restaurant and win a bottle of champagne
We went to Brown's last night. It's a nice restaurant, and reasonably priced. BUT THE FOOD WAS DISGUSTING: EVERYTHING I HAD WAS SERIOUSLY OVERCOOKED. I will not return.

Six of us went to Brown's last night celebrate my mum's 65th birthday. We had a fantastic night, but mainly due to the lovely atmosphere in Browns, and the company. The food was also very good...but the service was absolutely shocking!! It started with them getting the table booking wrong (7 instead of 7.30) and after we sat down the waiters pretty much ignored us throughout the rest of the meal so we had to make a real effort to get their attention to order anything. We got a bottle of champers to start but after that had gone, we eventually managed to order more wine, but then waited a further 10 minutes for it to come, and everyone's glasses were dry...we had to remind the waiter we'd ordered it. A member of our party had to go to the bar to get herself a wine glass as there weren't enough. They forgot to make one of our party's mains, so he ate when we'd all finished. Deserts took forever!!! Although in fairness, they brought out a mini chocolate sponge with a candle for my mum's birthday which was a nice touch but that was before the rest of the deserts so she ate that while we all watched her ;) Such a shame - the manager was very good about the bill and took off the main that'd been forgotten without discussion when asked, but it was overall a disappointment, and having to spend half the meal trying to catch the attention of the waiters was tiresome!

Visiting my sister in London, and my first night away from my 2 year old girl and 1 year old boy. We dined at Browns. Well what can i say, a superb meal to end a perfect day. The sea bass was cooked to perfection, and the sticky toffee pudding was to die for! And the service was excellent. So thank you Browns, for making a very special time away, a tasty one!

My wife and I went for breakfast and ordered two lattes, a traditional breakfast and Eggs Benedict. The lattes had to go back as they were luke warm. On their return they were hot with an after taste that made them undrinkable. The Eggs Benedict was undercooked to say the least. The eggs were hardly cooked. The traditional breakfast was average. Notified staff about the after taste in the lattes and weren't charged for them but felt too irritated to complain about the eggs. Paid and left and within an hour. Notified Browns via their website and haven't had any reply. Never again because if you can't get a relatively simple meal and two coffees correct, why bother. Ruined my day!
